EU - What solved my 301 error

Now this just might be an incredible coincidence... but figured I'd post it anyway.
I've been getting the 301 / time-out error since yesterday.

Let me just point out I'm on the EU server, so no restart/patch yet :-)

I tried all the solutions provided by support (ports/admin/deleting/ToS trick), as well as some of the non-official ones, to no avail.

Trying again on different occurences today without luck, until just now ..

My client was running on the login screen, I went to the account page and decided to just try a password change .. from an alphanumeric one to a special character one ... I got in the game on the first go.

No problem anymore since then.

Hopefully this can help someone else also!

What do you mean by "special character" something like % or $?

Well I just tried it and it didnt work.

No matter what I change my password to it says "your log in information is incorrect, please try again" and the new password always works when logging into account management on this website. I am at a loss.. Really aggravating.

If you're on EU, it will start working tomorrow morning (server is being rebooted at 3am UK time).

I'm on the U.S and my server has already been rebooted. Just thought I would give it a try.

You can use only letters and numbers in your password.
What a special characters you talking about?

Yeah stuff like !@#$% etc. - tho incorrect login info is not what I had .. just time-outs trying to connect and the 301.

that's something else entirely but doesn't suck any less
btw my password on this site is completely different than what I use ingame .. dunno if that gives any insight..

Account management is the same password used to log in game. I'm not talking about the forum log in.

I changed my password to another alphanumeric
With old password - Incorrect login info
With new - the same 301...

I've changed it again - it was my old pass plus symbols '_' and '%'
And I'm in game now!

I wish it would work for my problem but nope.

The client was case unsensitive before the patch regarding your loginid.

I used my loginid all lower cases for so long I forgot the real one had some upper cases in it, wich caused me some addon problem because it was case sensitive for addon-server comms (some addons you have to type your accid in the lua file you know).

This may sounds stupid but have you made sure you are typing all lower/upper cases correctly (dont rely if it worked before)?

PW change working for some people makes the problem even more odd, as it seems is a db problem in zos end, and depending the fields being affected the pw change might not be enough for everybody.

Believe me I tried all that. Lower case, uppercase, old passwords, even with the account name i tried all sorts of cases. Nothing is working at all.

Ok now I just entered my password again and it worked and logged me in.

I have no clue what happened but now it works. I recommend everyone who has previously had the error where it said "Your login information is incorrect, please try again" try entering the password now. Maybe they fixed something server wide and it will work for you too.

I missed a few replies, glad to see it's working again

Think I'm gonna play til I drop now .. and sleep during my day off xD
