Forum Profile "Level?"

I noticed my Forum Profile has some number of "stars" next to the name and tooltip says "Level 3?"

I can't find any info on forum profile levels.

Any details?
  • What are forum profile levels?
  • Any "benefits" to different levels
  • How do we increase them?

    Really no benefit. I'm about to rank up again.

    I miss the disagree/troll options, however they were massively abused during the beta testing for people that just downvoted everything so it was removed.

    It does illustrate whether or not the general community agrees with you on issues though.

    Sort of ... its mostly folks' reaction to your posts, which equate to the badge thingies -- which gives you more "me bad" stars.

    They use Vanilla Forum (vanillaforum.com), although I've heard rumblings they're looking at abandoning it for another solution.
