Keep current map on local computer?

Every time I switch characters or go to a different place, I have to wait a couple of minutes while it loads the map.
Why can't they keep the maps on our local computers?
I know it takes up a lot of space but it is very aggravating waiting so long for the darn things to load.
I'm running at 4.2 ghz with good download speeds up to 75 mbs and it takes forever it seems and it happens every time I use a teleporter or switch characters.
Seems they could at least keep our current area maps for whatever continent we are on available without having to download them every time we go there.
Tired of watching the wreath spin around and around as it downloads an area.

If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.
