Loss of main menu.

After spending more than 5 minutes on any character my escape key fails to bring up the main menu. Also...travel between way-shrines ceases to work and clicking on another way-shrine does not register.

The only thing I can do is window out....close the game completely and log back in.
I've tried running in all 3 modes ie fullscreen / windowed fullscreen / and windowed and none seems any better than the other.

This has only started happening since the last patch.

Anyone else having this trouble?

In addition once the Esc key fails to work I am also prevented from spending skill points.

We would recommend you to try to repair the game files.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues after that.

Done the repair but nothing happen,i have the same problem,you must fix this guys cause i can't PLAY!

Are you using the "Exterminatus Group Leader" addon by any chance? If so, disable it until a fix/update is released. The creator of the addon is aware of the bug and is looking to solve the issue(Look here:Link)
There may be more addons that cause similar issues ofc.

These has happen to me several times. It can be fixed temporarily by hitting [ENTER] to go into chat mode, and entering /reloadui to reload the interface.

It not just you. However, a lot of the addons have not been updated for 1.1.2 yet, so the problem maybe there.

I'm having the same problem repeatedly. I'm not using Exterminatus but I have a LOT of other add-ons installed. Using ENTER or /reloadui does nothing for me, though. I have to /camp to character select to get it working again.

Try deactivate them all and activate them one by one until you can replicate the problem

With that massive collection of add-ons, how can you possibly be saying there's a bug with the game code...unless you shut them all down and then reproduce the problem?

how the hell can an allowed add-on do this to a system button and other ones (ESC isn`t the only)? all add-ons worked great till last patch => last patch broke it. have same shiet and it was driving me mad whole day yesterday.
if i only knew it`s gonna be like this before preorder....

Put it this way, when ESO patch 1.0.2 shipped (just after launch) it broke the game so you got 5 fps if you used ESOheads addon. Lots of raging on forum, but it turned out to be the addon.

Zenimax sometimes change the API, or how the game works, during patches. This breaks addons until the addon authors fix them. Hence why "Don't run out of date addons" is ticked up default. People untick it, and then wonder why the game broke.

I have the same issue, my add on list is not so impressive, but we do have some overlap (in bold), I will start with disabling those we have mutual, one is sometimes allowed to be lucky

SousChef has given me issues in the past. That is the one I do not have installed out of those you have highlighted and I do not have this issue.

This is an out of date addon issue. I believe some people solved it by disabling all Wykkyd's addons+Advanced Filters add-on.

Maybe they are running older versions of the addons than you are?
But anyways, it's usually a good idea to try updating/disabling the addons when the game starts to fall apart before doing anything else.

I have Sous Chef, Research Assitant, Advanced Filters and Loot Drop. None of them has given me any problem afaik.

I didn't say that. By all means criticise me for having too many of the things or for using mods that take away some of the fun of the game by providing spoilers but don't put words in someone else's mouth and them use them as the basis of your point.

Anyhow, I've removed a lot that I wasn't really using and the problem seems to have gone away. The ones I've removed are:
