CAN'T KILL HARVESTER

The orbs spawn right next to it because it's against a wall, I try to move it but they still spawn next to it. I try using fighters guild skills but they have no affect on the target, and my sword and board has no dps against it. shkrg2hpdvdq.bmp

Harvesters, and Boss healing in general is a bit OP.
Heal yes, but to 100%, give me a break.
    I feel your pain.
Sorry I can't help but I'm a Sorc and had my own troubles.
I did discover that Daedric Mines (Sorc) planted at the Boss works ok.
Apart from that, you just have to do your best and get those balls anyway you can.

Silver bolts will take those orbs down. Backing off a good distance will make it follow and leave the wall. Just avoid the black winter.

Try AoEs? You are a DK with some of the best AoEs in this game, you just have to use them........

On my dk tank I use Volatile Armor, which does an aoe when activated. Pretty easy to take them all out in one shot with it. Easier so with the configuration your screenshot shows. I cast and they are gone.

By Veteran Rank 7 you should know this already.

Harvesters are the worst. I wish they’d remove them completely from the game. No enjoyment from fighting them, no sense of accomplishment from beating them, just hassle.

    AoE.
Trying to target each ball in turn is hopeless.
Not tried it but - caltrops? Might work.

Seriously? They're my favourite monster. They're tough which gives a sense of accomplishment once defeated plus their behaviour is somewhat unique. In fact I wish there were more monsters like this, rather than copies of monsters passing as bosses with only upgraded health/damage and a different name..

    Topic: AOE those balls!

I hated Harvesters with a passion and died often when fighting them, until I switched to being a dagger wielding vampire nutter, the extra speed of the daggers means I can dance round and hit those orbs quickly and then hit the Harvester with Drain Essence to regain some health before going in for the kill.

It still isn't easy but it makes them more manageable.

Always keep some stamina up to break the stun, then when the orbs appear you will have time to pew pew them with whatever ranged weapon you have, even just a short pulse from a resto staff will kill an orb in one hit. And it seems like harvesters need 3 or more orbs to fully heal. And, if all else fails, drop a pulsing AOE on the harvester as the orbs come close, i.e. dark talons for DK or the AOE on the dest staff or even an ultimate.

    'avoid the black winter'

neat trick in the trial and tribulation hallway. easier to sneak past the stinking harvester. i tried killing it for fun down there; it wasn't.

This was one of the last quests for me in the game so it's the highest level other than Craglorn for my main NB (AD Alliance). I remember that part and instead of sneaking passed I just "Had to" battle it in that tiny space lol. I killed it fairly easy but I had to constantly move and burst DPS my ass off, mostly using DW and always saving some stamina to AOE the orbs or hit them fast in succession. The view in first person and that small hallway can make it a bit tricky but it was actually FUN for me.

It's a fight that stands out to me in the game because it looked like a trap and I just had to defeat it even though I could have easily avoided it as a Nightblade, I needed to show it who was boss and that I did very well. :grinning:

I think you need to change to a range weapon or one with aoe.

Just like life ..you cannot get by using just one tactic/mentality ..you MUST change! Change is good:) As other have stated use range!, use AoE! kite the enemy, kill the orbs. I have not done this but is it not like all the others in that class of monster?

I came to respect harvesters. At first I hated them becasue I had a stinky tank build with no AoE. Eventually I learned to pop Liquid Lightning once the orbs appeared, keep my Thundering Presence up 100% and smack the Steel Tornado button a couple times. The orbs were crushed, the Harvester took damage from all three attacks and down it would go.
Harvesters taught me powerful lessons. I cannot wait until they figure out what they want to do with Cloud Ruler Temple in Cyrodiil and we have a reason to attack two or three Harvesters at once.

killed that one with a templar in maybe about 10 seconds, starting with throwing blazing spear and solar disturbance ultimate and then spamming puncturing sweep.
i kill all harvesters like that. they are completely disoriented and can't get any hit on me.

I've always found Harvesters pretty easy, tbh.

But Storm Atronachs ... Ooooooh boy how I hate those guys.

Lots of aoe. This wil hit for damage and deal with all the healing orbs so she can't heal. I find it frustrating to use ranged exclusively if I am by myself b/c she just chases you and gets in your face anyway. I wind up spending all my time and stam dodging and just generally trying to get away into a good position. As a dk this was my strategy: start with ranged (silver shards-may or may not stun but it's the best ranged I have) but immediately follow up with crit charge, then a good aoe like talons or inhale, hit with uppercut (it won't stun her but it sets you up for dmg bonus on next strike), heal with dragon blood as I get some distance to use crit charge again. Rinse and repeat. That's how I do it. Strike hard and fast don't give her time to heal. If you have ultimate obviously use that too. GLHF

Edit: Sorry. Just realized how old this post was (guess it was recently ressurected). Probably already beat it by now but it may be useful for someone else?

A dragon knight can drop a harvester in seconds.......Green dragon blood and standard of might. They are to dumb to move out of the standard of might (-:

I've dropped two at once several times.

    Storm Atronach......I hate those too

I'm a stam build 2hander... critical charge works well on the orbs if you are on your toes.
