Character locked for account name? WTF

So I was in game with my friends and we were about ready to do the group dungeon in eastmarch. As I enter the dungeon I appear to be on a forever loading screen. So I force quit the game and the I start ESO again. When I log in and try to enter my character it said "ERROR CHARACTER IS LOCKED" and it popped up with something and said "TYPE IN YOUR NAME" I type in my character's name which is Molag's Balls. and then it locks him and quits the game for me.

Since I know it had something to with my characters name, but I was still confused I contacted customer support, here was the reply.

I know many others are mad with this. Why can't I have a option to forward it to the right department at the start? I know I selected the right category? I want my character back, I've spent 3 days on him and transferred all my gold from other character to him so I can buy a horse for 43,000 gold. I planned on switching him to my xbox one. But if I have to wait awhile to play him i'm unsubbing and canceling my xbox preorder.

Now sure you could say "you deserve the lock- his name was molag's balls" but zos, is just assuming that it's used wrong.
A ball: a solid or hollow sphere or ovoid, especially one that is kicked, thrown, or hit in a game.
ESO is an M for Mature game. A lock/ban should be reserved for harassment and hate speech. There's a dungeon called *** tomb for god sakes! And lets not forget about the book "The lusty Argonian Maid" Those are worse than my name! I really would like my character back, been hyped for this game for a year and a half, theory crafting builds on tamriel foundry, watching the shoddy cast lore, viewing twitch streams from the PTS. It's a great game, but are you kidding me? A locked character? Had big plans this weekend for ESO.. New patch and was pumped! But can't even play this weekend.. Hope to get my account back very very soon.

A character lock isn't reasonable.. The punishment doesn't fit the crime. I want my account/character back.

I think it has more to do with using a canon character name and less to do with the balls part of it. Most MMOs don't allow the use of canon names.

If you want help submit a ticket. You sometimes get help here but it is rare. They should just force a rename or rename it for you.

Ask for help section on the right side of the page.
Try requesting a phone call if you're having no luck with email tickets. I've heard sometimes those can work out better.

Back in the day when I was playing DAOC, my characters name was Turrett. A month before the release of an expansion, I think it was "The Trials of Atlantis", they TOOK my name. I logged in to my character to see that he was no longer Turrett, but something like Renamed_A62B. When I selected went to log in, I was given an input window that allowed me to change his name. When the expansion was released, there were mobs that were named Turrett.

You should be given the option to rename. It IS not fun being locked out of the game/character, BUT there are limits. Honestly if I had seen your name I would have reported you, just like I have reported the other names I have found inappropriate.

Respect others. Mature rating or not, if you pick a name that your Mother wouldn't approve of, you know you are pushing your luck.

Anyone with certain parts of the human anatomy are going to get their characters locked...very poor choice in names.

unfortunately although this is a rated m game, it's not rated that for it's language. TOS rules still apply as normal, if someone is offended by it, and for reason, you will have to change. Pretty much not everyone is that smart, so you should pick a name that wont be confused with something bannable

also the Molag part probably violates the rule that you cant pick names that are similar to current popular NPC's and characters from in game. you could have been reported by a role player LOL...not to be mean, i just find that particular scenario to be funny in any situation

Doesnt matter is the game is rated M. Not an excuse for what could be deemed a sexual reference.

Rating applies to *their* content, not player content.

My mother would have thought it was funny. Not all octogenarians are prudes.

Just saying. And I think it probably had more to do with the Molag than the Balls, too. They should just have a forced name change, not an account -lock.

And that's nowhere near as bad as the WoW goblin rogue I got into the 70s without anyone twigging onto how his name is pronounced. He never got name changed, I just stopped playing him about two years ago.
