Stuck solid sometimes 5+ seconds at a time!!!!! PLEASE FIX!

No, I am not stunned and I don't have any effects on me. This usually happens in a fight, but it can happen or persist after the fight is done. I have closed the launcher. ESO (32 bit) shows about 875MB used, my internet connection is very good.

    I rename this combat system to "Sometimes Combat System". You hit a button and sometimes something will happen.

    Thanks for fixing biting jabs (i still cannot believe that delay was a design decision, you actually tested it?) and some of the VR mobs, but the combat lag is just... bad.

    I have the same issue as well. I haven't been able to play much since the latest patch, because of the lag.

    Are you playing on EU server?

    - Talons (in addition to 2m smaller radius, which makes you suffer terrible melee beating) now take about 1.5-2 seconds to emerge from the ground to root enemies... and some can still move, dragging the talons with them..

    - inferno staff still lagging the hell out, refusing to obey it's master.
    Aka sometimes when you click for light attack, you begin to charge an uninterruptible heavy staff attack, that can (and will) cost your life, because you are slowed while charging it and can't use abilities.

    Yes im also experiencing a terrible combat lag in normal PVE during quests.

    In adicion to all the above problems, sometimes some skills dont work but costs magic. Example the Petrify skill. Even if the enemy is not sufering any damage, when i cast petrefy sometimes the skill dont petrify the target but still draws you the magic from casting it.

    Melee combat in general is broken, my charecter sometimes stays frozen for a second or 2 without responding to attacks (and is not stunned).

    Also noticed the huge amout of damage a enemy archer deals when using a voley attack (more then 1500 damage in 1-2 second) same for mages with some fire spells. I dont undertand how an AOE attack is more deadly then a single target attack skill.

    If you want to nerf skills to "balance" the PVP dont forget to banlance the PVE too cuz 90% of the game is still focused on PVE.

    I don't think this has anything to do with balance. For me this has the smell of too much technical debt for the devs to keep up with. Meaning if you adjust one thing then something else breaks etc. Systems can be funny in that way when too many things are tied together by shoelaces and bubblegum.

    Right now I'm debating if I'm going to wait it out, because i really enjoy the melee combat when it once in a blue moon actually works, or avoid the frustration all together and just leave. The twitch nature of the melee combat (and i stress i really like this design) can be so utterly rage inducing when you keep being punished for mistakes in combat that has nothing to do with player skill that it is just not worth the headache.

    I think there may be two problems here.
    1. The first is the problem of getting stuck for 2+ seconds. This happens periodically during or just after a fight as described above -- toon isn't sunned or anything, but can't move or take any other action. This is not a client-side lockup either -- the display is still animating and I can see mobs moving around and atmospheric effects animating while this happens.
    2. The second issue is a general lag on abilities that seems to be happening all the time. Sometimes, responsiveness is pretty good, but in busy situations, it degrades significantly with all abilities getting an extra 200-1000ms delay in the time it takes for them to fire. Switching weapons seems to be affected by this even more severely and using it in a close fight is often impossible.

    Devs really need to go play other MMOs that got this right. It seems like they have somehow allowed animations to become involved in the use of abilities. Animation should just be client-side eye candy with the real action and any necessary cooldowns handled independently. This can lead to animations and actions not necessarily being synchronized all the time as you often see in other MMOs, but I think I'd rather have that than deal with the way ESO is performing now.

    This needs to be addressed ASAP. Fixing this would make the game 100% more enjoyable for me.

    I thought maybe I was just remembering things over-fondly, so out of curiosity I downloaded and re-installed GW2 to compare the experience. The difference is astonishing.

    I know there probably is lag, but the way GW2 handles it, it does not affect the client or the ability to use skills. All skill actions are absolutely rock solid - skills fire instantly when they are supposed to, you get visual feedback on cool downs, skills queue they are supposed to, weapon swap works every time reliably and instantly and you never left with the "click and pray" feeling that ESO gives you in tough fights - you now when you press a skill button it is going to work and work every time.

    ZOS: GW2 got this right. Why can't you?

    I unsubscribed because of this. I won't be playing until they fix it. This is the only american MMO game that I can't play from Europe and my Australian friend is also having the same issue.

    Epic lag today... I started a dolmen and right now all daedra are frozen, while i am not... but I cannot hit them or interact... another relog and I suppose i will be dead or they will... who knows in Random Scrolls anymore

    NA server is super laggy. I've logged out twice now. Go to the bank to deposit stuff, hit E, wait 10-15 seconds, rinse and repeat.
