Mac - Game crash on launch

The new patch, which has been a pain in the !@#$ to download and update (it's been running for about a full day now), the game client immediately crashes upon launching.
I cannot play the game anymore. I have even tried using my friend's Windows installation (that is running fine on his computer) to run it under Parallels Desktop (the game worked fine in Parallels Desktop before the Mac client was even available in Beta) and I get the same crash.
I'm putting this out there because it kinda sucks to have a full weekend without being able to play.
