Quest Disguises= 1 per account

Playing on a new alt, my quest asks me to put on a Frostedge Bandit Disguise in Bleakrock. However, I have one from my main toon in my bank. I can not pick up a new disguise on my alt. Not sure if this is intended or not. If so, it's rather inconvenient I have to log back to my main, visit a bank, and delete the other one (or take my little nooblet to town in another zone to get the one I have). Not very convenient.

I hope they change it to one per character same with banks because that's a bad design choice.

It's not one per account and it is intended. They are considered unique items, if you want to carry more than one, make a character for nothing but disguises and put them there.

Sorry but yes it technically is one per account you can only have one of each across all toons therefore one per account.

Wrong. You can only have one in your bank at a time. You can have one on each character if you want, you just can't loot them when you have one in the bank because the bank is accessible across all your characters. This is intended.

In a sense it's a bug I think, as the shared bank causes the game to think you already have the disguise on the new alt you created. Maybe they should have this fixed to 1 item per location, so if you got 4 characters, you would be able to have 5 of the same disguises, 1 on each char and 1 in the bank. rather then have 1 in the bank, and being unable to loot any on any char as a result.

Wrong. You can only have one in your bank at a time. You can have one on each character if you want, you just can't loot them when you have one in the bank because the bank is accessible across all your characters. This is intended.

I will say this again. It is not one per account, it is one per character. Since the bank is linked across all characters the bank inventory is considered part of your inventory so you can't loot it because the disguises are considered unique.

I have one character that I keep all of my disguises on, some I like the look of, some I don't, but I keep them because I'm a pack rat. Those disguises do not prevent me from looting the same disguises on another character, nor do they prevent me from placing the disguise in the bank so I can move it to a different alt if I wanted to.

So like I said, if you want to loot the item on the character that you are playing, put all your other disguises on a completely different character. You have plenty of character slots and you can skip the tutorial so you can be right there at the bank.

I have never been able to loot a disguise that I already had in the bank If a disguise is in a bank and you can't loot it again unless you get rid of the one in the bank then it is pretty much 1 per account. You can not have the same disguise a second time if you already have it.

Why do you have to get rid of the one in the bank. If you need it for a quest then take it out and use it. You can only have one type of each disguise in the bank. Not a bug and is working as intended.

Lets do this... bob has one account with 5 characters, one character leveled all the way to 49, and he had a bunch of disguises.
Bob decided to play another character, this one leveled all the way to 49, and he also had a bunch of disguises.

one day bob decides to put all his disguises in the bank, but since any given character can only have ONE of any disguise at a time, he can only put one full set of disguises in the bank.

Why cant he put all of them in the bank? because you cant have more than one of the same disguise on the same character (bank goes for all characters, so it would stop you from picking up a duplicate disguise).

Solution? put the disguises in a characters inventory.

I was wrong I realized what he was talking about after commenting.

You can't obtain a second one if you have it in your bank.

You can obtain one on every toon if there is not one already in your bank.

If you want to wear a disguise that you already have sitting in your bank you can equip the one in your bank.

If you want each character to have their own copy of a disguise you can keep one equipped on them or in their inventory.

If you want each character to have their own copy of a disguise but you don't necessarily want to wear that disguise right now you are going to have to sacrifice the one inventory slot to carry it around.

Also, these disguises are unique (meaning 1 per bank or 1 per inventory, per character) but they are not bound so you can mail them or ask a friend to mail/return mail them to your account.

this issue only occurs when an outfit is in the bank. Since the bank is shared, all characters register as having the outfit already

This wouldnt happen if lets say 30% bank slots were char exclusive and the rest account shared.

Might be worth a shot by ZOS. It would not be the first mmorpg to make it that way.

The issue I have is I'm lvl 4, questing along in BLEAKROCK- Which has no bank. So I have to A. Log off my alt and log onto my main (which may or not be anywhere near a bank) and go to a bank and delete or remove the costume. Then log back onto to alt. or B. Run my little level 4 to the town the next zone or two over, skipping content along the way to withdraw the item. Either option (and those aren't the only 2 possible solutions) are ridiculous, intended or not, I do not find them acceptable or user friendly.

The costumes are not marked as Unique (well most of them aren't anyway), so if I want to have 120 Red Rook Disguises, I should be allowed to have 120 Red Rook Disguises sitting in my bank. Whether I have 1 or 0 or 120 does not change game play at all. Making me log off to delete/remove one from the bank or run my butt to the bank does make a difference in the gameplay. Having multiple value-less costumes doesn't make a difference. A costume in the bank should not make a difference out in the world to a character who needs one for a quest.

Creating a Costume Alt is not an acceptable solution to poor programming and design. Intended or not, it should be looked at by ZOS and possibly re-thought.

Just wayshrine travel to the main city with the character and go to the bank, then head back to bleakrock. You have access to your capital city after leaving the prison, so you have access to that wayshrine.

Its absolutely stupid for a brand new toon to have to travel all the way to Khenarthis Roost to get to the bank just to pick up the box in Vulhkellelelrhwhatever Guard so you can go into the stupid area where the battlereeve is.

All because you happened to still have that old costume in your bank from a month ago you forgot about.

yeah wonderful game design there.

no each toon can have one. I have serveral crafting and bankmules alts all dressed in the disquise.

Correction ... Bleakrock DOES have a bank. It's in the same shelter as where the crafting stations are. There's a bank banner and a banker, to show where they are in that shelter. This is how I grabbed the disguise on my alts from my bank, without needing to go to another zone.
