Lag makes the game a hell to play after the patch

So... with all the other current issues going on atm, i got hit with severe lag today after patching.
Tried to relog and turn all settings to minimum but nothing helped.
Disabled everything there was to disable but nada...
The game is pretty much unplayable as it is for me now but i never had this issue before the patch, so im guessing that servers are taking quite a hit now and something has gone horribly wrong again with the lag issues
Keep in mind this is in open world pve NOT in pvp... i didnt even try to go into pvp.

I'm getting really bad lag as well and it's infuriating. I never lagged or really ran into any problems before the patch, but since patching the game I'm getting lots of lag.

I'm also experiencing very nasty lag and intermittently extremely low frame rates around towns, i.e. worse than before the patch. Not TOO bad in delves for me, but definitely problematic. Lack of response has led to some unfortunate deaths, e.g walking near a city in Shadowfen - my char keeps walking forward, no game response to keyboard, walks over a cliff and into some crocs, unable to respond and fight back before the crocs kill me.
Dropping the video settings to lower value has not helped.

same here - big lag spikes in regular dungeons

Yes, same here since the patch. Horrible lag and very low frame rates. Definitely unplayable now. To this point I feel I've had a great deal of patience with the well known issues such as broken quest lines, etc. but this is very different to me. I paid cash for the game and pay a fee to play this game. To my mind having the game be unplayable is unacceptable. This is not a free to play game and my standards of what I am willing to put up with are different because of that. I am one very disappointed customer right now. On top of all of this, twice I've logged off and back on, disabled addons, changed settings, etc. Both times I've tried to log off the game won't stop running. And I can't even CTL ALT DEL and get out of it that way. I've just had to shut down my computer.

It's like running through molasses in basic overland areas. I did notice that there have been some changes to areas though. Like the walls are gone in Khenarthi's Roost. Visuals feel different, richer kindof. But I feel sometimes like it is hard to focus on them.

ROFL, like the way they have been looking into the memory leak since this game started? That has never been fixed...

memory leak has nothing to do with this, the memory leak i can handle easy but this is overall just lag and nothing else...

I think you are mistaken. Have you even checked your memory allocation for eso while running the game? You say you can handle a memory leak easily, what, you have like 5 terabytes of RAM? Because it will devour 4gig in under 45 minutes (and does not stop there) if you are one of the affected (you know you are affected by weird ass lag, then lask of responsiveness, then game just quitting on you eventually.)

yes i have checked my memory, and that does not explain the constant lag from log in, the memory leak is not affecting me atm, so its not that, and like i said if it was, a simple relog should be sufficient to let me play for an extended amount of time before it gets a problem, this is lag and only lag. its there from the get go and i have been checking my memo constantly just to make sure its not that ( memory allocation does not pass 1,7 gigs for me, and i have 64 gigs of ram so it would take shitloads of time before i would acttualy get affected by it.

so like i said, its not the memo leak.... its pure lag

so no.. its not me who is mistaken... if i was in doubt i would have asked about it

    next !

They also did some changes to landscape and such. You can walk right into Khenarthi's Roost now, no walls or gate. Things feel different on the landscape in that area as well, only one I am bothering to run around right now.

yes and armor has gotten more details to etc, so they made some nice eye-candy changes :)

This afternoon I was hit with a huge download from the launcher. I expected a 1.1.2 patch, but not 26GB worth. From this thread and others, it appears I'm lucky in a way.

I've made the decision today to just give up on ESO, at least for a while. It's not stable, they clearly don't even know how to address the performance and memory leak issues.Every patch says they have fixed memory leaks, yet they persist.

Given that I never was credited with the 30 days of free game time that they promised when I bought the game, my play time will be officially over in 6 days, and I feel pretty well ripped off. I spent a lot of money to upgrade my GPU specifically because I was excited about this game. Oh well, it'll come in handy for something else I suppose.

I'll keep monitoring the forums in the hope that they eventually figure it out.
