Horse steps sounds like bassdrums

Horse steps sounds now like bass drums; you have to turn down ALL environmental sounds cause the steps are so loud that it hurts your ears. This game gets more and more unenjoyable and unplayable. Fantastic!

    well, perhaps with a surround system it is good. I have Headspeakers and they are so loud that they really hurt in my ears, so i have to turn EVERYTHING down.
    Cause it is not on steps it lays on effects.... Now i hardly hear things i want to hear or need to hear cause i have to turn down anything... For a game that lives much on atmosphere it is horrible...

    I had to turn everything down as well because of the horse. Hopefully this gets fixed pretty quickly.

    well, i think I make a break for 1 or 2 weeks and play LOTRO again a bit.
    Empty botted landscapes, bugs, lags, atmosphere is now also hurt,
    hard to gain money and materials, unbalanced bosses and storylines,
    everything is made harder and harder, materials lesser and lesser...
    I am atm enerved of this game. I don't want to be forced doing just the straight given mission lines in very narrow paths while i am ever short. And this bazaar price handling with small merchant guilds, where you have to region spam offers or make price deals with guild members.... It's all really going on my nervs. The only happy people are high level veterans and bots I think...
    Time to go more on fresh air.... ;)

    Im really sad (yeah, thats exactly the word) about the game...I dont know is the first mmo that gives me a huge good impression at the beginning and now its aaaall going down, I play less everyday, and when I enter after not playing every few day, is worse than before...

    Ok i thought this was just on my end. The new horse gallop sounds more intense. Like I'm riding into war in some movie. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

    I feel more an more like a beta test user that at the end the people with console and 5.1 dolby surround system could play this game on their leather suit with 72'' TV.... fine fine

    i love new horse running sounds, much better then original

    It seems that the volume contol of the horses got detached from the footsteps setting like it propably was before. I guess this was a mistake and will be resolved in a later patch some day.

    Well as also since patch game fps dropped significantly and has Microfreezes / is laggy, i anyways cannot play, so it doesn't matter ;)

    Yeah, I like the change to the sound as well. It sounds much more solid, much more like a massive animal weighing hundreds of pounds should sound running.

    Also, the sound only escalates like that when you're at full gallop...maybe keep it to a canter until they put it back on the correct volume setting? It's not that much slower.

    Of course, there's all the OTHER issues to contend with, so...by comparison this one is pretty damn minor.

    Sounds are EPIC. Quit whining. btw. what are those sounds you'd like to hear while riding a horse? Just curious...

    The only epic is your silly comment. I play this game with Headspeakers. The epic sound is so loud that i have to turn all sounds down, cause otherwise it hurts my ears. That is not trivial, it is really a problem. So keep your silly opinion for yourself. Epic is that some people have to do 100 threads with the word "whine" in it to feel important .... Epic sillyness, and really a comment without any behaviour.

    They have bound the horse steps not on steps, they have bound the loudness on environmental sounds... what i want is that i can turn the loudness down without having to turn down all other sounds.

    Are you both brothers? I mean, is there a comment of you brothers where you can try to think and don't use the word whine? lol ;)

    And eh, if you have a level 30 horse there is sure a "little" difference in gallop or not... oh man; I am really proud for you that you have doly digital surround 5.1 systems and feeeeeel now epic. So feel epic and don't make your "whine" comments.

    I have headphones, very good headphones. All I can say is headache. I have no problem with the sound itself but would like the option to turn down the volume.

    The new sound is fine IMO, but it's the volume that's out of whack, especially on my headphones. I gotta think it's a bug that the volume can't be reduced from the Footsteps slider like the regular horse trotting sound.

    That being said, this is certainly not on par with the multitude of other game breaking issues introduced with the patch....which means they'll probably fix it first.

    I'm probably going a touch deaf though, so even using headphones they don't bother me.

    me 2,; very expensive and good Sennheiser headphones. Much better as most Loudspeakers and my neighbors like me also much more....

    The 'normal' horse sound is tied in with the Footsteps volume, but the super-bassy sound is tied with Effects. I've had to turn my Effects volume way down now so that it doesn't sound like thunder when I'm riding my horse... It's quite annoying. I hope they fix it so that sound goes through Footsteps like it's supposed to and verify that it is properly balanced volume-wise with the other sounds.
