Dual Monitor Black Screen and Resolution Issue

I run a dual monitor setup and normally have a video/movie playing on the second monitor. Before the patch, everything was fine, and I could watch something while playing. But now, half the time, the second monitor comes up as a black screen. The audio plays, but there is no video. I have to alt-tab multiple times back and forth and hope that the second monitor ends up displaying something. Even then, there is some sort of "lag", as in whenever I alt-tab, the monitor freezes for a few seconds before displaying the video.

Also, I actually quite liked the feature of being able to drag the mouse cursor onto the second monitor while playing in full screen, but to each his own I guess.'

The second problem: I can't change the resolution, no matter what display I'm using, fullscreen, windowed, or windowed fullscreen. In windowed and windowed fullscreen, the resolution option is blacked out. In normal fullscreen, I can change it, but the actual resolution stays the same, and when I try to change it to windowed mode after "changing" the resolution. It's still at my normal 1920x1080 resolution.

Does the black screen on the second monitor occur when in Windowed Fullscreen? I get that when in Dedicated fullscreen, but I think that's intended.

Started the game for the first time after patching and had the same issue. Went right to video settings before typing in my password, set it to Full Screen Windowed mode, fixed it. Hope it helps.

try deleting/renaming your usersetting file in your document folder (in the elder scrolls online/live??/ folder)

(worked for others on this forum)

In the game, hit ESC then click on SETTINGS -> Video and select "Full Screen Window". It will be as it was before. The change is due to proper Fullscreen being implemented in the patch, and the game defaulting to that. Great thing is that you can change it on the fly without exiting the game depending on your requirements :)

Only in normal fullscreen mode, but I've been using that before with no problems.

I have this exact same problem so now I play on 'Fullscreen Windowed' mode, its basically the same as it was before. This also happened to me in BF4 where I also used Alt-Tab to manipulate the other screen to show.

The fullscreen before this patch wasn't "true" fullscreen. It was windowed fullscreen. With this patch there is now true fullscreen and windowed fullscreen. If it is not acting as before and you miss it, go into video settings and change it back to windowed fullscreen.
