Nobody gets to have anything installed on their computer that isn't on the company-wide approved list, and even then you only get the standard ones installed for your role, unless your manager or director sends in a ticket to have something else installed for you... Trying to get anything added to the company-wide approved list would take months and require a strong business case.

Yeah, it's about the IT security regime though. The more they keep it locked down in terms of what can be installed the easier it is for them to prevent any breaches. Plus, the more we can show that we keep strict controls, the happier our regulators are.

That has never seemed very accurate. Did you improve on that? It would suck to always have to keep checking the forum to see whether maintenance is finally over.

3: It will download an update for the launcher.
3A: If you get a couple server messages saying "Do you want to allow this program to make changes", click Yes. You may have to do so a few times.
4: Let it finish installing.
5: It should close, then restart automatically.
