Nobody gets to have anything installed on their computer that isn't on the company-wide approved list, and even then you only get the standard ones installed for your role, unless your manager or director sends in a ticket to have something else installed for you... Trying to get anything added to the company-wide approved list would take months and require a strong business case.I'm restricted in my browser choice at work...I don't know why I clicked on that link. Because you should be using chrome @UrQuan .. that translates it for you
You need to be nicer to the IT folks. I had to ask for chrome.
Heck, even when I was one of the IT folks I didn't get to have things installed that weren't approved...

Yeah, it's about the IT security regime though. The more they keep it locked down in terms of what can be installed the easier it is for them to prevent any breaches. Plus, the more we can show that we keep strict controls, the happier our regulators are.Nobody gets to have anything installed on their computer that isn't on the company-wide approved list, and even then you only get the standard ones installed for your role, unless your manager or director sends in a ticket to have something else installed for you... That really blows. At my work they bought everyone their own machines so they could install whatever they wanted on them. The only thing they made mandatory was that we had to run Linux, which I'm totally down with anyway.

Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between 'a few' and 'several'..?
My understanding is that a 'few' is 1-4 while 'several' is 5-9... well that's how it worked in Heroes of Might and Magic anyway

@ZOS_GinaBruno will the launcher still download the update if we left our computers on? Or will it need to update the launcher before we can download the update?

Here's what you do.
1: Close ESO launcher.
2: When fully shut down (i.e. off the Task Manager entirely), open it again.
3: It will download an update for the launcher.
3A: If you get a couple server messages saying "Do you want to allow this program to make changes", click Yes. You may have to do so a few times.
4: Let it finish installing.
5: It should close, then restart automatically.
6: After updating, it will start downloading Update 12. At which point, come back here to this thread and have a good time.
