For those that hate the Lyris doppleganger fight...

If you've done the 1st fighters guild quest line then you've had chance to practice a bit first (The first boss Doshia plays exactly like this fight).

It took me a while to do this with a 35 Templar. Maybe 6 attempts? What worked for me was having a good supply of potions and using stamina attacks to hit her and then use biting jabs to take out two orbs and then another biting jabs on the third. For some reason my main weapon attacks missed the orbs.

Good video to have as a guide for those who are struggling against this b**ch!

    As I mentioned before:

I made this video for a friend of mine that's having incredible difficulty with Harvesters.

    He's a melee Templar.

I figured I'd share, because a LOT of people seem to have problems with Harvesters, and I see a LOT of kvetching about the "unbreakable stun bs", which is breakable(I found this out late myself, and they wrecked my face until I figured it out).

There's no real instruction on how the CC break works in game.

That entire channel is main storyline and fighters/mages guild boss fights, simply for educational purposes.

Oh and bots. There's bot videos.

And my werewolf slaughter showoff for a friend that wanted to see the werewolf. Even though it's lackluster. I <3 my ww.

These gating quests are such PITAs. Somebody enjoys these?

The fanbois. That way they can shout "learn 2 play, n00b" or "go back to WoW, that's more suited to you" to all the casuals.

^ This. Doshia was the first boss fight for me that at first seemed remarkably frustrating and impossible, but it also prompted you to pay attention to what was going on during the battle (wait - I managed to keep her from healing that time! how?) and develop a counter-strategy. Then when the Lyris doppelganger came along, I saw the similarities and adjusted my skill bar/fight style to do what was necessary. (I don't think I actually encountered any harvesters in between both fights - as a wandering mob you don't really see them until much higher levels, at least in the Pact zones, and I've only seen them pop out at anchors a handful of times.) I remember this as still being a tricky fight, because even once you've figured out tactics that work, if you don't execute them well timing-wise, defeat comes quickly. But I found this, along with the King of Worms finale (and optional boss), Valley of the Blades finale, and Molag himself to be difficult but rewarding fights that presented a refreshing challenge and forced you to try things (different equipment/skill bar set-ups and such) outside of your usual routine. (I know Mannimarco was tough for many but other than being a very long fight, self-heals made it possible to do it on my first try.)

By the way, taking out the orbs (even the least-developed aoe does the job - I'm a tank-y templar but had just taken blazing shards just in time for this if I recall - as they are all one-hittable - I think you can attack them individually but that makes it difficult to prevent at least one from reaching her) also heals you, so it's a win-win. Nice of the OP to offer a guide.

Whoops, I meant Castle of the Worm.

I one shot this without any trouble on my DK. I had no idea this was such an issue until I came to this thread.

Did it as soon as the quest was available at level 30 also.

My Templar is melee build with heavy armor and sword and shield. Even though I know the healing bubbles are coming, it was almost impossible to stop them. I tried targeting them with sword, then using solar barrage, then the fireball.

The most effective ended up being to back up and shoot silver shards. That was instant (fireball is slow) and I had to aim at the harvester but it took out two orbs at the same time.

I did the lyris doppelganger a week or two ago first try, but it took me forever. Yesterday I ran into a tougher harvester in the fighters guild quest (when there are three separate bosses). Two other bosses were easy, but harvester killed me several times because she had Daedra reinforcements that kept spawning and merric was useless.

What worked for me was pushing her up a wall. Really. Knock back was my friend: got her to about head-height on a wall and suddenly it was like her healing orbs couldn't find her anymore & she went down fairly quickly after that to a mix of pet & basic spammed attacks. (Of course I had died about 6 times before the occasion on which I drove her up the wall occurred, and that specific fight had gone on a while before I got her away from the middle of the room.)

    B)

Can confirm that getting her against the wall works well, preferably into a corner. Also makes the wave of arms thing always emerge from the same angle, making it very avoidable. A little AoE suffices then for the orbs, who are severely hampered by the presence of a wall. Use Javelin to keep her there. This is where a nice batch of magica crit + restore magica potions + self heals comes in extra handy.

I've also managed her from a distance though in each case Nova is needed to get her enough damage to cut down the orb rounds to one or two at the most. Also pay attention to the arms & BLOCK.

    Long. Arsed. Fight.

Same templar. Drew it out a bit longer at the end to build ultimate to Nova her again.

Yeah... killing the healing orbs was challenging and this video was smart and went around so the Daedra wasn't attacking at the same time... I kept getting the mage Daedra shooting fireballs at me while attacking the boss.

I am level 39 and faced her for the first time. The fight went on for minutes as I didn't realize what her healing orbs were doing until I was out of Magicka/Stamina.

Once I figured that out, it went easier, but still took a long time. Lyris was useless for me.

As far as I can tell she is always useless. Others may have had different experiences, there is quite a bit of slop in the game that way. I like that myself.

Just ran this fight again on my 30 Sorc. Used nothing but Fury and fragments. Harvester was dead before the second round of bubbles. Took no damage from the harvester and the whole encounter took 64 sec.
