This is absolute *** to take them out of the game. It takes away from the underpopped factions. The *** hell.

I *** hate ZoS and this game. Making stupid *** calls and ninja removing, ninja nerfing and being cloaked in a shadow of lies.

Our apologies if we were unclear before. The merchants will return. We had to temporarily disable them to apply a fix, but will have them back online as soon as we can. We know that this is frustrating and appreciate everyone's understanding in the meantime.

Its frustrating if you bring them back!
For the defense thing with underpopulated servers.
If there wouldnt be that much servers at all we wouldnt have so much servers where one faction is dominating.

Even servers = no need to use mercs

And also what is with the overpopulated faction using mercs too.

    We had that yesterday.
More defenders than us + mercs = no chance even if you are better

I can honestly say that mercs SHOULD NOT be taken from the game but rather rebalanced so they are not as game breaking as they were. Mercs can help a smaller group stand a chance against a invade zerg however they should not be able to hold off an entire zerg completely using mercs.
I take pride in being an incredibly smart dumb ass, or an incredibly dumb smart ass, either way I'm awesome.

    Suggestion:

You can only use mercs if you have the underpopulated buff (besides some other small balance changes)

No. Because the underdog bonus currently only goes to the factions with less points, not less players. A faction could have dozens of regulars stomping the map but be the underdog because another faction is so ahead in points.

I'm glad to see the mercs gone. I'm able to defend a keep by myself without them, and I've seen so much merc spamming in the last week that I think I've seen more mercs than players. If you bring them back, make it ridiculously expensive, or make it less spammable than it is now.

I think there's both. There's a bonus for the alliance(s) with the least points, and there's also a bonus for an alliance with a consistently lower population than the others.

For the first time in a long time, this morning's PvP session was, well...PvP! It was refreshing...holding and then losing a keep to PLAYERS...it was awesome...

you should have disabled the use of them too. I was in Volendrung for 10 hours and the AD emperor there said he had about 500 in his guild bank. He was spamming them so much, and we couldnt buy any to use against his crew due to the vendor being gone

I don't understand people's argument that it helped the underpopulated team.

As an AD in AB I ferociously abused mercs to solo defend against any attempts by DC to ninja stuff, and thus get a foothold on the map.

Even I am happy to see mercs gone, and I was one of the worst abusers of the mechanic.

I get that the under populated team was aided by them.

The problem is the over populated team used them as well. Nothing like attacking a keep and having the opposing zerg with double your numbers show up spamming invincible mages.

The infamous "Soon" from ZoS. So by now, all of you customers know that Soon from you guys means for *** ever. So while you guys sit on your hands thinking on what to do or how to fix it. THE ONLY way EP is able to hold off the DC zerg on Bloodthorn is now tossed out the window. So you couldn't let it just go on for months like you did the caltrop exploit?

You cannot defeat DC on BT!

That's alright - take your time, no rush.
In fact, if you want to shelve it indefinitely, that will be fine by me.

Better yet, tuck it behind the fridge so it doesn't keep catching your eye and taking your mind of the other things that need doing. :D

Hopefully the vendor will never return. Don't waste resources trying to fix.
