Merc Vendor Gone?

Someone posted on Reddit that the Merc vendors are gone, can anyone verify? Maybe post a screenshot? Maybe a dev post?
Hey, all. We're applying a fix to the mercenary merchants in Cyrodiil right now, so we've temporarily disabled them. Keep an eye out here, as we'll be sure to update when they're back!

    Well, that's one way to fix the bug/exploit.

    Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

    The mercenary vendor is definitely gone. At least ZOS is recognizing that they were actually broken and destroying AvA. I would have preferred more of an open statement about it, but ninja removals work as well.

    Still loving it, because a lot of the players I play with and against currently have hundreds of Mercs. :D
    So this will be interesting how quickly they abuse away hundreds before they are fixed.

    This is absolute *** to take them out of the game. It takes away from the underpopped factions. The *** hell.

    I *** hate ZoS and this game. Making stupid *** calls and ninja removing, ninja nerfing and being cloaked in a shadow of lies.

    Probably more of the bugging out situation whereas they cannot be attacked. I would assume they will return at same strengh just not bugged. Until such time of course a problem no doubt.

    So, you allow several weeks to use caltrops exploit, and now disabling uncontrollable bug this way? ok....
    ZOS workres, pls open a dictionary with "bad" words, this shows my opinion about you.
    how about you disable world bosses, that don't give achievment? Doors in keeps, that can't be used after repairs for some ppl, delete all not working quests, remove horses, since they are still bugged like hell, remove weapons, since they can't be switched when needed, disable resurect, cause it's exploitable (res not using gems)... for whole list of what you must disable, read support section of this forum.

    The infamous "Soon" from ZoS. So by now, all of you customers know that Soon from you guys means for *** ever. So while you guys sit on your hands thinking on what to do or how to fix it. THE ONLY way EP is able to hold off the DC zerg on Bloodthorn is now tossed out the window. So you couldn't let it just go on for months like you did the caltrop exploit?

    Caltrops was a bug that affected EVERY AoE skill in game not just caltrops. Anything that put a damage-based AoE field would "kill" the oil or seige that had a hidden HP. It was not something easily fixed.

    Same can be said about the list you mention. Not so easy to fix. PLz relax.

    Are you a programmer? Do you know the coding involved in completely removing/disabling an ability from the game versus the coding involved in removing/disabling a single non player character?

    They removed both the only defense DC has in AB and the only way AD are able to hold onto every keep on the map almost simultaneously.

    Basically it's 6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other.

    At least with both caltrops fixed and mercs gone, it's back to fighting where the best or most coordinated guilds win, and that's something I don't mind dying repeatedly doing.

    I really hope one of the fixes is to up the price considerably to reflect the increased stats and damage they got when you raised them to V5

    ZOS please don't bring mercs back. I wan't to play PvP not PvE. If I want to bash boss level mobs I'll go to a dungeon.

    Whats (primarily) wrong with mercs is that they aren't players and I didn't go into the pvp zone to fight NPC's.

    That's alright - take your time, no rush.
    In fact, if you want to shelve it indefinitely, that will be fine by me.

    Better yet, tuck it behind the fridge so it doesn't keep catching your eye and taking your mind of the other things that need doing. :D
