Like I said - I vastly prefer ESO 1-50. VR I can firmly leave so there's nothing left for me to sub for once I've exhausted the faction story.

I'll be taking a look at ArcheAge for sure, But then I love PVP.
The thing about ESO is that it is too big to fail. It may take a while but things will come good. But more than anything it has a wonderful class system and once the problems are sorted and more content added people will come back.
I can honestly see myself playing for the next 3-4 years, maybe longer. Every month? not a chance.
That said, Zenimax need to learn and learn fast. They need to not bend the knee to the boo boys like Blizzard did, but at the same time listen and learn from their players. It's a tall order for any mmo game but the signs are there that this game will be great. After all almost all the complaints are about bugs. generally the game is well loved.

steveb16_ESO46✭✭✭✭✭Well, the whole point of giving Trion the license was to remove the Korean grinder aspect. That's their remit.
Meanwhile I'll take working systematically towards building a guild fishing boat, galleon or castle over the frustration and boredom of slowly grinding VR ranks so as to engage in lack lustre PvP any day.
But other's mileage may vary and like I said - ESO blows Arche away when it comes to the story-telling 1-50. Get rid of VR and give me an extension of the Faction story line and I'll be more than happy.
I am a huge ES fan and would have taken out a life sub first day if offered. I'm just hugely disappointed with the quality of the release, the class imbalances and the abject quality of the patches. I also simply did not expect VR to be either such a pointless grind or such a nonsense piece of hand-waving excuse to re-use old content I'm happily doing on alts.
But tastes vary. But I suspect the VR is driving more than just me to think I'll call it a day once the faction plots are done and it stops being fun.0 -

I am hoping that in the very near future they add some more content that makes PvE enjoyable for upper levels. I know everyone wants bugs fixed, but without new content soon, the VRs - even those enjoying the game - will wonder away.

Also it helps if you dont care about the main-story because it is ridiculous after 50.

Loco_Mofo✭✭✭✭✭The game isn't going F2P anytime soon, but that's not to say it isn't suffering from some serious issues. I can't believe some of the guys here that brush off these concerns saying it's normal. Sure, small bugs, bots, some lag are common issues that most players will deal with, but on top of these things are some major screw ups that have/are driving away their customer base. If you want the game to succeed, you have to bring these issues to light by discussing them, not simply brush them off.
Class imbalance and broken combat mechanics are the top two that are killing the fun for me. After reading the PTS patch notes today, I've pretty much lost faith in their abilities to repair my broken class. The magicka > stamina issue is a core problem and I don't think Zeni have a clue how to repair it. When everyone is running around using the same weapon and armor, you have to realise that there is something seriously wrong.0 -

Honestly, yes. The problem with todays f2p market is that they sell one of the parts i am most interested in, cosmetics. And the problem i have with that is that once that starts happening almost every way to change what you look like ends up behind a pay wall. I would honestly rather they locks the best gear behind a pay wall, or dungeons behind a pay wall, then all the cosmetics. But that is just me.
So anyway if the game goes f2p im sure id stick around a bit, but it wouldn't be long before everything i was interested in getting was locked away, and then the game would be dead to me anyway.1 -

The question in this thread is a legitimate question, one the developers should maybe ask themselves. I don't want eso to become F2P in the same way Neverwinter is and like it or not ESO has some issues. Nothing that can't be fixed but plenty that is turning people away.

NOTHING all a customer can do is wait and see if things are fixed or if you have to prove you are serious about wanting the product and quality you paid for. swtor is nothing like that and as I can't think of another mmo that was sub and went to F2P could you give any examples?. It's actually a pretty good system imo in swtor. My Mrs plays it, it means that although she pays a sub most of the time she can take time off paying and still play.
I do agree with the points you make though and for the same reasons don't want ESO to go F2P, but I don't think it would be the end.
