Do any NightBlades use "Blur"? I think it needs completely redone.

Just curious. I've used, or at least tried close to every other skill, but this one doesnt even seem worth trying since it's such a petty buff.

Have any of you tried it to a point of morphing it, and was it worth trying?

I feel that it would be worth it if it did something to the effect of "Increase dodge chance to 50% against ranged attacks for 6 seconds".

That's my recommendation.

    Tried it, wasn't useful at all.
    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Nope... I wouldn't even use it for my tanking spec. I would use Manifestation of Terror over it.

    Yes I use it on my alt along with aspect of terror ,shade,haste and any active weapon skill. I never actually play that alt but he certainly uses them :p

    You mean use a skill that has a 15% CHANCE of avoiding damage vs one that WILL 100% do damage? If I'm even the least bit unlucky I will be hit almost every time during those 20 secs. Absolutely worthless to bet on an ability that won't work even the majority of the time.

    Now if it made me take say half damage from all ranged attacks and lower melee attacks by 20% for the duration, NOW we are talkin.

    I would hope that they can see what percentage of NB's use it... So they can see that w/ the magicka cost to buff ratio, it's not even almost, kinda, maybe, barely worth it, in any way.

    For a class skill, it should at least avoid 50~% of ranged attacks or something to that effect. I'd be happy w/ that at least.

    I rather see it turned into a siphon passive: Each time player uses a siphon ability / gains resource from siphon ability, character gains a protective bubble. Replace catalyst for this one and give Assassination a useful damaging ability for that line.

    If they did that. They would have to decrease the time of effect dramatically.

    It's utterly useless. They're not going to dream up a new skill when they can't be bothered fixing the olds ones. It's hard to give a worthwhile evasion skill because of the 'no cooldowns'. If miss chance increased as health lowered it might be useful capping at 75% or something like that (if you're "lucky" enough to still be alive after a big hit) making it a counter-assassin skill. It would make for an interesting low-cost alternative to self-heals but a big gamble all the same. There does need to be more risk-reward in the NB class.

    But, honestly, I don't see anything meaningful eventuating for the NB. I've given up on it.

    As some have said: it is utterly useless.

    There is a Set Gear out there that gives you better dodge than that POCrap skill.

    That skill, is literally a copy/paste of the medium armor activate... completely unimaginative. Even when stacking evasion using both the medium armor and blur, then activating ember explosion for a total of 75% evasion before set bonuses, they don't even stack correctly, and require 3 frigging ability slots...

    Thought about it. I already have the medium armor ability, which is pretty useless too. Glad I read this thread :)

    I use it. More useful in PvE than PvP for sure...something I'd like to see for it would be increased duration at least...like 45s or something along that line. I've had a couple of ultimates get ganked by missing. I got the morph where there's a small chance to knock-back/stun if a miss occurs. I don't think it's happened once, even in PvE. Until I get something else, I'm going to continue to use it. It's like a secondary ability on my other hot-bar and in large PvP fights you'll notice lots of misses. The duration is so short to be useful though...it's a pre-battle ability that you hope doesn't drain too much magicka. I wouldn't mind it getting revamped into something better.

    Gosh. Would you people make up your minds.

    I've said before the 15% chance to avoid an attack was utterly useless and slot waster and got torn a new one.

    I suggested a Counter Attack type ability and no one was interested.

    But, to answer the OP's question. I do use it. Or, I've started experimenting with it. I morphed it into Mirage which adds a percentage chance for enemies to be thrown off balance when they miss you.

    So there's a 15% chance they will miss you. And if they do, there's a chance they'll be thrown off balance. :\ Probability wise, those are some terrible odds.

    But I use it in conjunction with DWs whirlwind ability. Not sure if it's making much difference. I still nearly die.

    What I don't understand is why the bleep Blur is an Assassination ability in the first place. Assassins aren't known for the lengthy epic battles. Why are they even giving their opponents the chance to hit them? They are more of a Instant kill profession. Surely.

    Blur should be replaced with an ability that increases light/heavy weapon attacks by 15%. Used in conjunction with Haste = NB is viable and competitive.

    If Haste worked for bows, which it doesn't and will never be fixed by the sounds, and blur was replaced with a damage multiplier skill it would make a bow NB more viable too. But neither thing will happen. They'll make blur 20% and increase magicka cost by 10% in patch 1.4 or something equally as mindless.

    Pretty sure it is a place holder ability. I tried even leveling it up, so useless that activating in a fight even with it on my bar is a liability. I spend that extra mana for the lucky chance I might not get hurt by a melee ability.

    Its like there just to make 5 abilities in assassination tree.

    Meanwhile volcanic rune can chain cc all the mobs.
