New UI/Addon Manager

Swampster✭✭✭it detects all my addons.. but doesn't auto update them.
I go to my installed mod page in the ui, it detects them, and indicates they're out-of-date by highlighting the version number in red.. there appears to be a 'greyed out' autoupdate button next to the mods, but the button does nothing.
To get the thing to update, I have to go into the option deselect the auto update check box, then reselect it.. it then goes through the update cycle.
Other than that, it's fine... though tracking mod 'addons' would be good too..Swampriel - Nightblade (Archer Build) - Ebonheart Pact - Veteran

Cairenn✭✭✭@Swampster Yeah, that's a known bug that's going on with it. We're working on a fix for it. In the meantime, you can either continue using the work around you are, or an alternate option would be to just turn off the auto-update button on the options tab like you are, but then instead of re-enabling it, just go back to the installed tab and use the update all button at the top left. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Doctoruniverse✭✭✭Minion *** sucks. It installs in area's I dont want it too. It has certain files in area's that are hidden.
When I close it down it still runs in the background making it impossible to delete addons while its running manually.
Most of all I have never seen such a clunky addon manager in my life except maybe for curse addon manager.
And addon manager should be :
Lightweight
No flashy graphics on it
Be transparent in where it puts it content
Minion fails in all these regards.0 -

What do you mean by it installs in areas you don't want it to? Where is it installing? What OS are you using it on? How do you find it 'clunky'? Have you looked through the support threads in the Minion forum? When you post, could I ask you to include the information requested in this thread as well, please?
It is called a beta for a reason, and we are trying our best to make it better and get it out of beta. We can't help people or fix bugs with 'information' such as "it *** sucks".0 -

this is my experience with it.
i downloaded it and installed it. it started searching for what addons i had installed already it locked up/froze/refused to work. so i restart and try again and the same thing happens. i dont touch it for 2 weeks and try it again. works perfectly. strangest thing everThere is no safty to be found in a sword. a sword brings death. it does not give life. it is a responsibility... a burden... this is no gift. it is a curse. i hope one day... you will forgive me.0 -
Auldjohn✭✭✭✭In my experience, playing on both the NA and EU Megaservers, Minion works great! After a little initial confusion with how to "switch" between ESO Megaservers, I was instructed to just add a second instance of ESO in Minion set to the EU Add-Ons directory.
I then unchecked Auto Update, and now use the Installed tab in Minion to Update All. Works like a charm.
The only stall had with Minion was when I somehow used a bad directory pointer when I tried to manually change the Add-Ons directory when switching from NA to EU. (I accidentally used a shortcut instead of browsing to the Add-Ons directory in My Documents.
Changing Minion to have two "instances" of ESO solved that problem, one for NA, one for EU. The one-time stall has not happened since. It has been stable for me, and very easy to use.
Even though Minion is Beta, I can search for Add-Ons, get detailed info about any that interest me, and even Install the new Add-On if I want to try it out, all within Minion.
Support for Minion on the ESOUI Forums has been outstanding. Overall, Minion Beta gets (*) "highly recommended" (*) in my book. It's becoming essential for Add-On management for ESO.

✭✭Love it, its great and saves a lot of time. Buut, if you have a good chunk of addons it gets slower. takes like a minute to gather my addon information now. EU Client aswell
so i can only give a 9/10

We released an update for Minion yesterday. Have you updated yet? If yes and if it's still being really slow for you, would you mind posting in the Minion forum please? Also please include this information to help us!
If no, try updating and see if that helps, please, and then let us know.

MorteASH✭Works fine for me. Takes the leg work of tracking down locals for the add-on's.
You don't have to auto update, allows you to manually update by taking you to the individual web sites (how I do it. Like to feel like I'm taking part).0 -
Love this program! Works great so far, i havnt seen it do an update yet but thats cuase of the new patch and the addons them selves not being updated yet. Easy to use and work with. 5 out of 5 dragons recommend.0 -

Happy to report that virtually all of my current MODS, including ZAM's buffs and @Wykyyd's great tools are now up to date thanks to MINION Update All! MINION Beta still gets my new (*) (*) (*) (*) (*) + 1/2 (*) rating and rising.

zgrssd✭✭✭✭Minion works. It seemed to get stuck while reading my addons the first try (or maybe it just takes really long because I have all 3 clients), so I had to restart it. But afterwards it worked fine.

Cairenn✭✭✭Errr, if they were already installed, and remained installed, then they would show up in game regardless.
As I just told zhevon, just above your post, we pushed out a new beta update today. Try reinstalling it, see if it fixes your problems with it. If it doesn't, please post in the Minion Support forum. Include the information requested in this thread, please.0 -

All it does is taking the work of downloading, unzipping and copying the files from you.I stopped using it when it stopped detecting what it had already installed so they weren't showing up in game.
Plus looking if there is a newer version on ESOUI. If they are installed for that client, they will show up in that client. If they are not, they won't.

Khazaad✭✭✭Auto update appears unreliable. Sometimes I have to uncheck/recheck the option. Upon clicking it back to auto, it runs whatever updates have been piling up since it stopped checking.
Also it would be nice if it was a little more proactive with maintaining the mods. Is it responsible for monitoring mod conflicts and outdated info? Is it supposed to be? Come to think of it, it seems like the only thing it does is getting the mods files and placing them in the ESO folder.
