Was I the only one excited about the idea of really experienced players/players with a higher lvl dominating the battlefield? Back in the trailers, we saw a lot of cannon fodder get torn apart in multiple ways, and I can't say that I see anything wrong with that, as it fits with Elder Scrolls. Even at the vr-10 lvl, not very many players are that good, especially ones that just jump in at a higher lvl. As vr-3, I don't have much trouble solo'ing a vr-12 if I get the jump on him. I'm also perfectly fine with my lvl, and I see where I fit in the alliance. In the early stages of the game, a few days/week after release, pvp was amazing. I remember seeing the dragon knight reflect ability that a vr-7 was using, and looking at him as if he were a god. That and the fact that he slaughtered me and others multiple times. Low lvls were numerous and filled the ranks so to say. If anything, I could use more of them, and I would play one myself in pvp if it wasn't that everybody was vr-12 now. It would be nice if there was a reward for retiring your character that maybe benefited new characters and promoted the act of it, so it was worth it. Seems like the pvp lost its aura after the first 2 weeks.

I agree that higher level characters should be stronger, that only makes sense. The problem begins when the boost pre-VR players get is so weak that you stand no chance to even hurt them. Add to that the fact that most more active pvp-ers are VR and you destroyed the fun pre-VR for a lot of players.

Because of extreme lag and disconnects since the patch I have not been able to check whether or not that has been changed as promised or not though.

As it stands now I feel like the only kind of player that makes any difference in groups pre-VR are healers, so with my lvl 34 healer I have been having a blast when the campaigns are active. On my lvl 28 DK I charge, die and have done nothing but that. Dead before I can do damage. So pre-VR melee feels useless.

When I go ranged instead I see hardly any movement in their health bar, so also as ranged pre-VR you are useless.

It's no fun feeling useless. I luckily have my healer to have fun pvp with, but I can understand that all those melee or ranged players that are not VR yet are not having much fun anymore.

VR players should be stronger, but pre-VR players should not be as far behind as they are now. Behind and weaker yes, but not this extreme.

I excuse my sluggish post, as I've been pretty drowsy with work and ESO at the same time, barely get around 4 hours a sleep most nights.

I do agree that multiple veteran lvl players have hurt pvp in some ways. However, outside of the larger campaigns like Wabbajack, I still see a large number of pre-vet lvl pvp'ers. It always warms my heart to see a bunch of lower lvl players step up and wipe keeps...however I believe Zenimax kind've killed that by making all mobs vr-5 and practically making it end game vet content. That's how it's probably going to look from now on sadly... Maybe there will be a special event campaign like Celarus that will be for pre-vet lvls. Would be nice to promote for some time.

It is indeed a hard setback to see those npc's so strong in Cyrodiil now. I don't even dare attack any unless I am certain someone else has aggro. It however is a result of the vast difference between pre-VR players and max VR players. The more pvp-ers get to max level the stronger the npc's have to be to keep it from being easy mode for those players.

If they had not made the difference this huge, then this npc buff wasn't needed at all.

As you said; they kinda made Cyrodiil an endgame thing which goes against the whole idea they promised us. They kept saying you didn't have anything to fear and could easily compete from lvl 10 on thanks to the boost you get. Sadly they have changed their mind since, screwed it up for all pre-VR players and I fear they went past the point of no return. Adding some more VR ranks this patch only made it worse as well.

ESO was, and for a big part still is, the exception to the rule of having to rush to endgame to be able to have good looking gear and compete in pvp. The pvp they made endgame only for the most part now and to go off-topic for a bit; with the pre-VR gear uglification they also gave us the urge to level up faster so our characters don't have to look like crap.

I fear they really have crossed the point of no return towards making this game yet another "rush to endgame or die" game. PvP is already there, PvE soon to follow? If they nerfed the VT ranks then all those players would get mad and many would leave. The only option I see is increasing the buff pre-VR players get far more than they did with this patch.

I fear for the worst tbh.

As do I. I support the idea of VR players having a good boost...you spend a lot of time so it is expected that you get better stats and more of an advantage. However, it's getting to where everybody is vet lvl. Just seems bad, I myself like the challenge of playing as a lower vet lvl and competing with vr-10/12. Many don't though, and most of the players I lvl'd with pre-vet are vet lvl just like me, and that's thousands by now. VR-10 players are everywhere, the hustle seems to have slowed down. That's what I fear in this game, that it will all just die down soon.
