Maintenance for the week of October 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – October 6
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – October 7, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EDT (20:00 UTC)
Is this problem something that you are hoping to address during this evening's maintenance? I, for one, would like to have some kind of idea of how long we can expect to be unable to access the server for which we are paying a monthly fee. A little schmoozing with the disaffected goes a long way here.
I got advice from support advising me to change a line in the UserSettings.txt file. It involved a display driver, so it may have been applicable to something specific on my own rig. It didn't help me. Still, for those of you feeling panic set in, or if you're just getting bored, here's what I got:
"Open UserSettings.txt with Notepad
Press Ctrl + F and search for GraphicsDriver.7
This brings you to the line SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11"
Change that line to SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9"
Save and exit."
Again, try at your own risk. I just want to share information in the hope that it will ignite some kind of synergy.
Meanwhile, I'm looking at a couple of new single-player games that I hadn't been considering until now. Peace.
I got a similar response to a similar problem. Of course it didn't work, they're just guessing.
"Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
This issue seems to be related to a new fullscreen mode introduced in the patch. Please try the following:
Navigate to C:\Users\Username\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live
Locate the file UserSettings.txt and open it with Notepad
Locate the line starting SET FULLSCREEN_v5 - it will be set to SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "2"
Change this to SET FULLSCREEN_v5 "1" and save the file
Restart the launcher and hit Play"
this problem is NOT on our end it is server side, while sure this latest patch may have set off the problem on there server there is nothing we can do on our end to get back into the game, there are post filled with people myself included who can not sign into our avi's from any computer from any IP after this problem starts,we can hope there server restart here shortly will fix this for us.
It's a holiday weekend in Merica N the servers down for maintenance. Just leave the servers up till the holidays over! I'm a Vet N deserve my game time !!!
UPDATE: Last nights server-reset did the trick for me. I am now able to login and play. Seems to me, as it was a database glitch, with some user records getting locked (a known issue with big databases). For future reference, ZoS should run a 'unlock records' script, when issues like this arises. Most DB developers have such a script available...
Oh, and keep the contact with the customers vibrant , will ya'?
We are - afterall - the meal ticket...
Also open windows resource manager, select network, go to eso.exe once it shows up (game got to be running) and compair the games ip and port at the login screen with other users.
Yeah, whatever ZOS just did to the server, it didn't do *** for me. Now i'm pissed.
ohh sorry to hear that=( worked for me im able to log in again finally tho unless they fixed the problem that started this mess then it will likly happen again to some people.
