No to more stupid nerfs who restrict normal gameplay, don't take far more work to implement an auto ban on players who make and delete 30 characters over 2 hours. Might be best to send an mail after 15 and tell them to stop that they are doing.

Its not a nerf. And other MMOs uses this way.
Which other subscription games have such a character creation throttle?

We just need a 4-8 hour cooldown or something on new characters after a delete.

making a cooling off period per character before deleting is an elegant solution to the problem. After the cooling off period, a simple yes/no deletes the character or allows it to be played again, cancelation of course should be an option at any point during the cooling off period.

how many characters per hour do you create that you need such a change to not go live?

If you want to reuse the name, it should be available again once the character is deleted.

This would not be the first time this solution has been implemented to combat exactly this sort of behavior.

tldr? cry moar about something that will actually never affect you more than once every few months.. if that.

You should not be allowed to delete any char "younger" than 1 week at all.

With the issue that you create an new character find a good name start the game and then the idiot moment then you find you have selected wrong class or something.
You can not delete the character and reuse the name until after 6 hours who is next day.

And chances is very high they implement this nerf the same heavy handed way they nerfed bosses in public dungeons and cabinets / cupboards in short the throttle might be on character creation not delete as its marginally easier to code.

No it has not been an issue for me and probably will never be, however history has learned that screaming for restriction usually give far more than you asked for.

Making coldharbor and its quest mandatory again will solve much of the problem.
might add some stuff who make it hard to scrip as a bot too.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Hello @wuwuguangyu,

thank you for your information, we are investigating it. The best way to report an explot is by using the /bug chat-command in-game. If you find a player participating in illegal activity, use the "Report Player" function by aiming at the player and holding F. A radial menu will appear where you can choose "Report Player".
You can also go to https://help.elderscrollsonline.com and submit a ticket if you have screenshots or video evidence. Please be advised, that we do not allow the posting of Bot-Videos on our forums, as this is effectively Naming-and-Shaming which is not allowed by our Community-Rules.

Again, thank you for your cooperation.

What do we have to do to get the point across to you guys that this method of reporting does't work. How do we report the majority of abuse where you can't get to click on them and hold F for the radial menu to appear. When these characters are speed porting, in chains of 40 that never stop moving and have names like jlkboughl. How exactly do we report that? @ZOS_CarolusS sometimes it seems you guys are on the sides of the cheaters. The only method you will accept of reporting these people is by far the most difficult way of reporting anyone in any MMO to date.

Only if they give a free barber shop visit on character creation, because sometimes what you see in the character creation screen isn't necessarily what you will see in the actual game.
Side effects of reading messages on forums can cause nausea, head aches, spontaneous fits of rage, urination due to intense laughter, and sometimes the death of your monitor or other object in throwing range. If you find that you are reading forums more than 24 hours a day, please consult your nearest temporal physicist.

This is a horrible idea. What about those of us with re-roll-itis and alt-itis? I can't tell you how many times I delete my character and go through character creation again until I'm satisfied with my looks and name. And that's in every game that has character customization.

Gold spammers are currently amassing a wealth by following these simple steps

    1. Create character
    2. Create party with another toon that is resting somewhere within Coldharbour
    3. Use the teleport to player function to reach Coldharbour as a level 3 toon
    4. Finish the quest given by the initial NPC found in Coldharbour just by talking to it, which gives a couple of hundred gold.
    5. Send gold to a separate communal toon via mail
    6. Delete character
    7. Rinse and repeat

Simple and uncreative but as of yet not taken care of, according to my knowledge.

    Shame on you ZOS.

Perhaps you haven't been following the patch notes? The gold given in that quest was removed over a week ago, when it was discovered and discussed here. Who should be shamed ? ;)
