Last night while my wife and I were playing I decided to look for the new leaderboards in the UI.

I immediately found myself utterly disappointed in what I found. It was embarrassing to inform my wife that merely hours after the patch went live we had a top time of 25 minutes...

She couldn't believe it. She is much more unforgiving than I. "That's endgame"?

Her words... I swallowed hard and mine followed... "well that's probably a well rehearsed group from the PTS, I'm sure it's much more challenging than it sounds". She's not buying it.

    ZOS, you've thoroughly disappointed a 47 year-old woman.

You've hit on an important point that the PTS and forums need to be open to every subscribing member.

For a dev like ZOS, probably won't happen. Access to the devs gives the sense of exclusivity and that's what they need to get some of the crazy good players to do pts.

WoW's pts is open to any subscriber but I think the dev philosophy is different because they have the big numbers. They also grant exclusive access to certain gamers during alpha that mere mortal subscribers can't access.

I agree with this. I think the 3-4 hour raid runs are a thing of the past. Most of that time was just clearing trash anyways. Did you really get a since of accomplishment from the trash? No, the runs would of been just as good doing only the bosses.
WoW shows otherwise in all aspects.

Are we talking about the same game? WoW introduced a raid finder tool in order to allow for 25-30 minute raids, even for the "casuals".

And OP, stop complaining that PTS testers are already clearing content quickly. I guarantee you will not have that easy of a time when you get to it yourself.

They should have a separate leaderboard listing for those who participated in pts. It's not fair that everyone else has to start the race 50 yards behind the starting line and get their times posted to the same leaderboard.

    Nah, never happen.

I will say I was somewhat surprised to see a sub half hour time within the first day, especially since I was under the impression these were supposed to take a minimum of 45 minutes.

Though this does make me wonder if maybe test server people shouldn't have been given a time penalty for the first week or two to let others make up for the fact they have a kind of unfair advantage of having already played the content.

I can't even raid in WoW anymore I literally fall asleep spamming my rotation and I am only 19 years old...

If you have too many beta testers you get flooded with info, largely not helpful, and a lot of people approach it as a free preview or trial rather than being helpful. There is a real role for a cadre of true beta testers.

I actually liked it when it was done like eq did with the fear plane. The trash mobs even dropped good loot and were a challenge. Breaking into the plane was part of the challenge and fun. When you finally broke in you felt a sense of accomplishment. If there is a big bad boss he should have elite minions protecting him. I hate the way the trails are done and I hate walking into a room and there is the boss when I didn't have to do anything to get there. I loved crawling through Sol B to finally get to Nagafen.

I was disappointed when I ran the trails and got blue recycled set pieces off of the boss encounters. I would much rather it be rewarding and a good challenge, not the same recycled loot that dropped at level 30 off of a random trash mob with the same set bonus, but in a different color.

ZoS need to ban all the people who were on PTS from PTS and get better people in there. This patch was horrendous for people still leveling and noone from PTS probably mentioned it. They were more worried of finding exploits in craglorn so they can take advantage of it.

    Glad someone finally understands.

At least you learned at 47 years old. Some fan bois and goils will go to their grave believing that pts is for finding bugs.

My guess is that now the frontrunners are reporting 'bugs'. By making it harder for groups following, they wil stay on the leaderboards longer.

Always remember in video games: first exploiter wins, all exploiters who follow get prosecuted. lolololol

All you need to do is watch the videos, all they did is run the trails. There was no bug testing going on look how screwed up the game was after the patxh.

From the few minutes spent in Craglorn on LIVE tonight i can tell you that the zone has been nerfed down a lot from what we tested on PTS.

Which is a shame. I really enjoyed how difficult it was on PTS ...

This video shows a beta tester and what the beta community knew about how overpowered Dragon Knight builds were before launch and then big surprise, plays a Dragon Knight taking full advantage of knowing how overpowered the class was in beta (despite insignificant nerfs DKs claim were made progressively throughout beta.

On the other hand can we really blame people for taking advantage of foreknowledge if Zenimax was warned and did not make the appropriate adjustments?

...so because you both see the top time you are disappointed in the game... which your not playing but seeing on a leader board? Seriously? Well thanks for posting another intriguing indictment to the mentality of the ESO community.

It really isn't that hard to disappoint a 40 year old woman. I do it twice a month on our 'date' nights.

hahah I Applaud this comment my wife would surely agree with it too
