Afraid to Patch

This is a very strange predicament to be in, but following this forum.... I'm afraid to patch the game. It looks like this patch has broken so many things that I just don't want to install this patch.
I am paying a sub for this game, and was looking forward to a nice weekend levelling my khajiit nightblade, but I don't want a memory leak, I don't want to lose my achievements, I don't want to lose my quest progress. These are really serious problems that should be hotfixed immediately with a fully tested serious hotfix.
I want to play but I am going to wait a few days to see if Zeni can fix these problems and communicate with us about what they are doing. But I am paying for these days also. Paying for a game that I'm afraid to patch and play.
The fact that this patch was pushed through to EU when they knew it had serious problems has made me wonder for the 1st time if i should just cancel my sub and wait a few months until Zeni get their *** together.
I'm loving the game, but I wont put up with this lack of communication and sheer disregard of massive problems.

Regardless of whether you patch or not, you have lost the achievements. Your character is stored on their servers not your computer. Memory leak will only happen once you start playing.

Do yourself a favor and download the patch... it's 5-6 Gb. You will have to download it anyway + the hotfix for the memory leak. At least if you download it now and hold off on playing you will only have to dl the hotfix.

It's not strange at all. I also didn't want to patch the game but caved in today.
Should have holded out since it turned out the patch messed up something with the graphics and game is pretty much unplayable for me.

My gf & I just cancelled our subscriptions. To be honest I do not know if ESO will ever sort out all the problems. This game was never ready for release. And they are so very slow to fix bugs that have been going on since "BETA". To be honest I don't think they have any idea what they're doing, do they even test before patching? There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. Very unprofessional on their part...........I know it's just a game & bugs happen but I expected a bit more.

I too enjoy the game very much, maybe we will be back if they sort this mess out. Too bad there are no other appealing MMO's on the market at this time.

    Good luck.

Hey there, everyone. We'd like to provide some additional information on some of the issues associated with this recent patch. The missing achievements are not actually missing, as it's strictly a visual UI error. Rest assured, all your data still exists, so you can still continue to play and gain achievements. We'll be pushing a fix as soon as we can.

The quest rollback issue has been fixed since today's patch. Keep in mind that if you completed one step of a quest that was changed with the patch, you may be required to start the quest again. If you accepted or progressed at all on a step for which the prerequisites were changed, it may get removed entirely from your Journal and you will need to re-accept it once you have the correct prerequisites. Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, be sure to submit a ticket so that our Support Team can investigate further.

We appreciate your patience, and for helping to report these issues. In the future, be sure to also check out our Dev Tracker so you can stay up-to-date on any developer posts. Thanks!
As mentioned in that thread, the missing achievements is strictly a visual UI error and all your data still exists. You can still continue to play and gain achievements, and the visual error to the current achievements will be fixed soon.

We understand it's sometimes difficult to pinpoint a response from a staff member since the forum is pretty active, but we do encourage you to check out the Dev Tracker (on the right side of the page in the menu) if you're looking for an answer to something specific.

I for one was part if the crowd that first noticed the memory leak and sent in a ticket and got a speedy response to it about as to how to prevent some of the damage and it helped me prevent very little loss and avoided being affected by the mid-evening rollback that occurred last night:
Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online, sera. I am sorry that your computer is experiencing a memory leak right now. I apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused.
The causes for virtual memory depletion are numerous. The two most common causes are below.
1.) When dealing with bare minimum virtual memory(512MB) for running The Elder Scrolls Online, running any other program that uses any ammount of virtual memory will cause your computers virtual memory to deplete itself, using it all up in order to run the game. This causes a bleeding effect in your virtual memory which will cause the game to crash.
2.) When running a very powerful computer and trying to do a Crossfire/SLI setup; because the system has so much virtual memory that it will scramble the high ammount of virtual memory which causes the same type of virtual memory bleed.
These are the two corresponding solutions to the causes.
1.) In a system with low virtual memory, it is recommended that the player only run The Elder Scrolls Online so that all the virtual memory is used to sustain its' stability during gameplay. This is accomplished by the player making sure there are no VoIP services, browsers, music players/streamers, or any other such program running actively or in the background.
2.) For very powerful systems, to disable this feature, simply open the NVIDIA Control Panel and select 3D Settings. Click on the 3D Settings tab in the upper menu bar. Finally, select do not use SLI technology.
If you still have problems, please contact me. Again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to contact us."

Dude I am with you. No professional company would release software to there customers WITHOUT testing before hand. Apparently they never tested 1.1.2 on player test realm. They were so confident in their haxxors coding skills they said screw it.
