Don't You think there should be ETA for maintenance?

Do You like the idea to know how far is ZOS team with the update or what do they solve right now?
Not necessarily time plan.
Sort of percentage bar with description of what's done and what has to be done yet. We're kind of blind in down times, someone has to know the required steps and what's the progress.
It will help players to plan their gaming session better. What do You think?

I would love this, Riot does this for League of Legends and it gives players the opportunity to know if they have time to go do something irl before they wait to get back into the game.

Yes, I miss the downtime status messages for the US server, they gave an indication for how long the EU downtime would be.
And yes an estimated time like 2-3 hours or 6-8 would be nice for US players.

However the EU downtime might be far longer than expected as its some chance they bundle an hotfix on top, they said US server will get an hotfix once the EU update is done in another tread.

Ye would be really nice to know how long we still have to wait. ANY ETA will be appreciated as its getting close to almost 7 hours of downtime - and I really want to download the patch while im still at work

yeah I too agree a that a downtime indicator is required.. I don't know weather to start the house work or not

THANK GOD someone has posted this before I have, I for one think it is absurd that they give no time indication. I'm now sat in Stormwind waiting for my raid group to get going, Eso wont see me until tonight now as I shall be busy on another game. Only popped onto WoW as I had nothing else to do.... 1 Player down on today's count lol.

The problem with ETA's is people will scream bloody murder if it's not up even though it's an estimated time, so they are *** if they do and *** if they don't.

Even though I agree 100% with you (as is evidence with recent patch notes etc) even just a post saying "Hey guys maintenance is taking longer than expected, we recon it will be down for at least another 3 hours, will update if there is any change".

One thing I do appreciate from a certain "rito" company is that firstly if people complain its because they are passionate about the game (thats a good thing)
2ndly if they just give short updates of whats going on, people are waaaay less likely to go on a raging rampage of how bad everything is. (Yes there will always be those that complain just because they can, and it makes them apparently feel good to thrash others)

So yes just a short post informing us of whats going on would be appreciated. Stuff the guys that wants to go on a rampage because they dont understand ETA.

judging by reddit or twitter the us servers were down for about 6-7 hours so we should be due back up anytime now as it went down at 3am uk time I believe

Yes I suggested this like a month ago... And for all those that don't understand what ETA stands for its short for " Estimated Time of Arrival". The key word here is estimated. And for those that don't know what that means. Estimated means an approximate judgment or calculation. So if they give a ETA of say 08:00 and it does not arive at 08:00 no one should QQ all over the forums as the time given was a estimated time. This means that they can without a problem go over the time with a few hours without having to explain or excuse them self.
