Future cosmetics for werewolf and warden?

Argonianwerecroc212
I was thinking about warden bear being possibly changed to a tiger or crocodile or boar and for werewolf like a strictly cosmetic werebear or werelion form that could be earned through a dungeon or crown store. I feel like it would be nice but how do you guys feel about it?

Me personally I would love a tiger or lion version of the bear for my warden and for my werewolf character a werebear cosmetic form or werelion but strictly cosmetic

I want a 3 meter tall giraffe as my warden ultimate, and full size molag bal mount that glows in rainbow colors like a disco, so while i ride I can squash other players beneath me in town like beetles.
Also please give the giraffe a swarm of butterflies that fly in its wake that after 3 seconds explode with holy fire of stendarr, and when my molag bal mount jumps I want earth/screen of other players close to me to violently shake.

Cosmetics make money for game, game keep going, fund reworks.

Creation of cosmetics is not a straight acceleration/deacceleration of rework.

We will be keeping the Warden's bear, fear not!

And the team has also seen the requests for potentially offering skill styles for the Warden's ultimate to allow for other animals to be used instead of a bear. It is something we are actively discussing, but nothing has been solidified since we have to be very cognizant of animation memory.

    Regarding Werewolf:
    ZOS_Erin wrote: »
The team wanted to chime in on this conversation with some additional context. For the U50 Werewolf Refresh, we are not considering custom cosmetic markings, adornments, or other such options. However, what is currently in discussion is allowing players to pick their fur colors, regardless of morph choice, using the Skill Style system. The release date for fur color Werewolf skill styles is still TBD as we weigh this effort against other class refresh efforts.

New were-models, other than the female Werewolf, are not currently being discussed. New models require new rigs and animations, all of which have a significant impact on memory and performance.

So ZOS is actively talking about potentially making Feral Guardian model swaps, but not Werewolf Transformation model swaps.

DKs got Azure reoclors for all skills.
I'm suspecting Wardens will get that ugly orange recolor as well.

The preview already looks promising so I wont be complaining about base skills
That said, I always welcome more ways to express my character

Werewolves still don't have Verdant Green styles for 3 of their Active Abilities (excluding the Ultimate for obvious reasons — no green fur please!) and I would've thought this was less demanding than 6*3=18 styles for each Class.

The bear is neat, but I would love the option to choose a cat or wolf instead. Then as the years progress, they can release skill styles for those options just like they did for the bear. Being able to pick the tiger, then later make it look like a tiger, a black panther, or a mountain lion would be awesome

ZOS isn't going to drop everything to focus on the refresh efforts, even if several people in the community collectively vote (multiple times per person) in favor of it. If cosmetics pay the bills, then I'd gladly accept more cosmetics being added in tandem with the refresh efforts.

It's funny that Warden was so Morrowind-coded in aesthetics and then you just have a normal bear as a pet, like if it was a Nix-Hound or something... But yeah, let us have more animals as guardians, a raven, a wolf, something.

Maybe the raven can rest on your shoulder pirate-style while idle, or he can summon a murder of crows at your side?

No, but they absolutely should. The playerbase isn't going to wait around for multiple years for these class revisions. It's simply not reasonable that they take so long for something that the wider playerbase agrees should be a priority.

Conveniently snipped out the part where I say:

Saying "the wider playerbase" when omitting the quoted bit above is certainly a choice.

Yes, the community will still be here multiple years from now. People have complained about balance for years, and we have to realize that PvE/PvP is not all there is to this game. At least ZOS is taking steps in the interim by nerfing all reworked skill lines and class masteries while more skill lines are being reworked.

and forced glowing eyes. Which are so extreme if you pick berserker. I hate that my nightblade is turned into a hazard light enough as it is, why does my werewolf's face need to be one too.

    Defensive much?

They badgered me, clearly. And with a complete nonsense argument. Where is the evidence that people voted multiple times? Conjecture and speculation is not the basis of a sound line of reasoning. The vote stands at 2.1k and is the TOP voted item. I'd caution not dismissing that out of hand. The wider playerbase absolutely wants this to be a priority. You guys can get defensive about that all you like, it doesn't change the facts.

Cosmetics are a good source of income, like it or not. As a Warden Main, I'd prefer them not to change these, I have skill styles I paid for for all of the above mentioned abilities.

You're the one that took the 'don't ship cosmetics, ship reworks' vote like:

    A) that's how that works

    and

B- the premise, a magical and complete focus on non-guaranteed-sale 'reworks', is even possible for a business before putting in the effort to maintain their bottom line in the easiest way possible (non-gameplay affecting cosmetics). This is what funds those reworks that have a questionable return on investment.

(for the record, I want them much sooner too but I don't live in a fantasy land that believes a clearly-struggling-studio should try to 'focus on these reworks' when they need to justify their own existence before the next round of layoffs)

Your opinion means very little here in the grand scheme of things because it isn't rooted in reality.

Edit: whoever made B ) an emoji should have a warm pillow every. single. night.

There are art and combat teams, and they've been trying to emphasize how different teams make different things.

Still, the new Warden skills we saw do make me think they're trying to do to a lot of Warden what they did to the pet proc sets, and just turn the pets into attacks (notice that the new Netch or Spriggan don't get the little carat above it to signify a pet). And if they are just VFX, that means it should be a nonissue to change them into a different thing.

I'm guessing Bear will now be the only combat pet in the Warden kit, and they did say Bear will still exist in some form. And a combat pet with its own AI will be a lot harder to replace with something else because it then needs to share a skeleton and animations. Now we have seen animals sharing skeletons and animations (see the Ursauks in places like Earthen Roots that are basically Senche-raht-shaped bears. Essentially you wouldn't be able to change the Warden bear for a wolf, but you might be able to make a bear-shaped wolf thing that uses bear animations and then have that instead.

    As for alternate wereforms...
    https://elderscrollsonline-feedback.featureupvote.com/suggestions/724364/alternate-wereforms
It would take exactly the same amount of work to make a Warden wolf pet as it would to make a werebear Skill Style... or to make yet another ridiculous Crown Crate polymorph. And unlike those silly Crown Crate polymorphs, we actually have werebears in ESO already, they just don't transform.
