Why do decorators feel the need to own the plans? Most already complain about the material costs. Why not pay someone to craft the items for you? Much cheaper, much less time consuming.
I do a lot of decorating, in many, many houses. Including 3 fully finished guildhalls. Was it expensive? Absolutely. Was it worth it to me? Even more so.
Since you decorate houses yourself, you know how expensive it is.
Of course, you can buy items from crafters, and they’re cheaper than the blueprints, but that doesn’t change the fact that some players can’t make huge amounts of gold because their playtime is extremely limited.
Why do I want to be able to know the blueprints and craft the items myself? Because housing is my absolute endgame, and I put all my effort and resources into “building from scratch”—which means I don’t just need a few pieces of furniture to place around, but massive amounts of structural furnishings to build entire buildings. And only then does the actual furnishing begin.
Even just crafting all these items myself is expensive due to the extreme cost of materials (massive amounts of Mundane Runes, Heartwood… which also have to be collected first). It’s just as impossible to buy 50 columns, 30 platforms, 50 walls, etc., from guild merchants—especially when it comes to NEW items.

I think you need to look that word up in the dictionary, it doesn’t mean what you are implying it means.
Also, why do you care if I want plans or not or even have them? It sounds like you are selling them for top dollar and if I won’t pay then I deserve that. Those who are in the housing community are supportive, not condescending.
Entitlement.
/inˈtīdlmənt/
Psychological and Social Context (Sense of Entitlement)
In a behavioral context, a "sense of entitlement" is the personality trait of believing one inherently deserves privileges, special treatment, or recognition without actually earning or working for them.
Nope. Means exactly what I said.
I care because people are trying to ruin the enjoyment collectors have in the very few chase items left in the game. The farm-able plants and mushrooms have already been bumped up, as well as the Shivering Cheese.
Furnishing leads from maps are no longer a chase since maps are in abundance.
As earlier stated, I eat everything I find, or I give it away to a few close friends that are also collecting everything in the game. Selling is only if I ever need some space, and if I sell, it is most likely less than others' listed. I have gold, I really don't need to gouge for more.
I left the housing community years ago when the majority were demanding that housing be cheaper or that they never have to leave their homes to acquire any plans or furnishings. Entitlement.

If you believe that then it is pointless for me to continue. You are not here for a real discussion.
True. Bad example on my part. I meant smaller, shinier things, not structural plans. Like others have said.
i agree,
but should note that the bubbling achemy furnishings are Legendary plans from the Master Writ merchant Faustina Curio, from various Furnishing Folios. So just requires a lot of Writ Vouchers.

I've opened some crates, but so far, it doesn't seem like anything has changed.

You bumped this 1 months old post to the top, and after that created a duplicate topic thread. What'd you expect?
This is still going?
Please leave rates where they are. Things are already way too common in most aspects (gold motif books have been dropping way more than before)
A lot of us long term players still want chase items.

Glenumbra plans aren't dropping. I spent 1-2 hours daily (often spending several hours) for months looking for furnishing plans and the best I got was 2 of the same blue Glenumbra plans. Not a single new purple plan.
Furnishing plans shouldn't be so extremely rare that they only benefit a lucky handful out of thousands. It is grossly unfair to the rest of us who have been trying unsuccessfully for months, and moreover it isn't healthy for the game that housing is as out of reach as it is.
I've more or less lost interest in housing with how hard it is to furnish homes, and now with content slowing even more I don't see myself logging in to play much anymore.

Will nitpick a bit about the comments in bold, as they contradict themselves.
Now, if referring to epic plans, they also drop. Hence why there are many listed on traders.
It may feel unfair, but that's the chase in chase items. If I really wanted to just own them, I could go buy them. If I just wanted the furnishings, I would pay someone to craft them.
Curated drops have already gotten rid of many chase items. Now people want furnishings, furnishing plans, recipes, everything that should feel rewarding when you do get it, to just be increased in drop rate until they aren't chase items. Give us collectors something to still hunt for since the mass amounts of begging have already made collecting relatively painless.

Can't they find something else for collectors to hunt? These are normal, everyday furnishings that are important parts of decorating a home: plants, vases, curtains, armoires... Rare collectibles should be actually OOAK type of things like, I don't know, the original edition of the 2920 books or the 36 lessons of Vivec (actually, we don't even have those books as furnishings yet, dammit); or the ceremonial sceptre of Empress Alessia; the long-lost artifact to open a portal to the mythical unicorn grove; extremely rare aetheric fragments to summon a mystical mount from Azura's Moonshadow realm, etc etc.

Yeah, it is a nitpick. Having 2 or 3 new plans drop after hunting for hours daily is manifestly unreasonable. And no, the purple plans are not dropping. There is still ONE plan available of the Breton Amphora, Marble on PCNA for 3.9M gold. At this level of rarity, I'm just buying the marble amphora directly with crowns.

The addition of rare collectibles is limited only by the devs' imagination; they can absolutely find a way to do so in a way that does not impact on players' ability to decorate. And I do think that not having access to good/high res standard furnishings is an unnecessary and unhealthy impact.

Are they though? How important are they really?
And honestly, what would be considered a reasonable metric to determine what alternate items would be acceptable for collectors to hunt?
Drop rate is still abysmal.KwamaEggMine wrote: »Maintenance is now complete. Has there still been no change or adjustment to the drop rate?

Yep.
I was expecting the Glenumbra ones to remain the same, as it is in line with other zones; it just so happens that there are no 'good spots' in Glenumbra with plenty of unowned backpacks/wardrobes/etc, even without a login screen (forcing us to use the 'port to a dungeon/unowned house trick') which of course compounds the issue. Is a perfect storm really:
- No good spots.
- Utterly diluted levelled lists.
- Atrocious drop rate.
However I was expecting at least that the drop rate of structural furnishings in Summerset would have been brought in line with for instance Solstice. I would have thought that this was a no-brainer because at this point everyone and their cat has done the Summerset dailies hundreds of times - first for the achievement, then the motif pages etc. - so keeping the abysmal drop rates would basically be the complete opposite of 'respecting players' time'.
Turns out I was wrong.
EDIT: For the record, I have stopped altogether. It has taken a long time but I have learned my lesson (the 10th anniversary jubilee imparted a pretty harsh teaching in this regard). When the game design infers that taking liberties with my time is acceptable - in other words, the infamous 'working as expected' - I just disengage.
If I have the coin to spare and there is availability when I do I will buy them from traders, if not I will do without.

Maybe it is this: Blueprint: Secret Door, Bookcase
This item was added to the game with the Update 50 DLC
