Small wishes for Warden's Class refresh

All my wishes are tied to Green Balance skill line, honestly.
Those probably won't end up happening, but why not let a guy dream while we're waiting for 2027, eh?
Seeing how Dragonknight have been reworked kinda fills me with hope the new Warden will be fun.

The skill line doesn't put "balance" in its name, since all those skills do is just...heal, and nothing else.

Since DKs have been stripped of their poison morphs, it would be fitting if Green Balance skills had healing and damaging morphs for the skills; or at least some of them should have those.
Most offensive right now is Corrupting Pollen morph, but it only applies a debuff.
Would be nice to see Corrupting Pollen actually dealing Poison damage in an area.

My two least liked skills, functionality wise, are Nature's Grasp and Living Vines.
For the life of me, I've never seen someone using Nature's Grasp in higher-level Dungeons, Trials, or PvP.
There's probably some high-end-elite-level meta build that focuses on that skill, it heals bilions of damage, and I'm just a casual for not using it - but I've never encountered such in action.

Living Vines has targetting problem, like many skills of its kind.
Seeing how Inferno have been reworked, maybe it will be turned into a similar emanation, or replaced completely.

Bottom line - Green Balance would really feel more "balance" if it offered damaging options either with morphs or skills themselves.
Please, give Warden to be potential for a plant/poison mage.

As for visuals
Considering Moth Priest's aura, Sheogorath's magic, and other instances - ZOS has the technology to add butterflies.
C'mon, ZOS, please, include that in your visual refresh for Green Balance line.
I mean, it's not that difficult to add such subtle VFX, right?

Healing Seed's flowers need some love as well.
They look...rushed.

The teal green is a bit too close to Necro's teal blue, but that's just nitpicking from me.

I don't really have comments for Winter's Embrace and Animal Companions.
There's plenty of frost-damage options in the game (scribing, ice staff) so it's fine.
As for AC, I dislike the skill line as a whole (using only Growing Swarm) and I'd remove it if I could, but I know there are people who like pets so I wouldn't wish for that.

I've been saying that poison is a better fit for warden than ice for a long time. Ice could become a separate class entirely. Poison far better fits the animals, insects and plants vibe of a druid class such as warden. Ice feels very out of place.

Yeah they won't remove ice though but honestly should have given it to dragon knight or sorc.

Warden should have gotten a stone/earth line instead of Ice, just replace all the ice stuff with rocks and stone. Give Sorcs an arcane skill line about illusions and summons (Kind of like Warden with Animal Companions) akin to a Mesmer in GW2, and then put all the ice and storm stuff into a new class "Elementalist" or something else

I did say before a dragonknight being ice and fire is far more fitting. Too late now that they reworked DK.

I barely use Earthern Heart honestly, I always felt Dragonknight should have had more dragon themed abilities, like maybe instead of stone and earth it was growing scales that shoot fire to protect you, or creating armor out of burning the air around you. That's kind of my pet peeve with ESO classes, they have two skill lines that make sense for the lore ZOS created, and then the third skill line is something vaguely connected.

Like playing a Sorc, 99% of us are running around with Daedra in the middle of cities, in the middle of a Daedric Invasion, like how does that make any sense? It wouldn't be so as bad (and I'm hoping they'll add this) if instead of summoning Daedra it was summoning Atronachs or Conjured Allies to fight with you instead

Summoning Daedra has always been a feature of the magic-based class in TES. However, I agree that the ability to summon Atronachs or Conjured should be added. I just think many Sorc players will still complain about their pets, as ESO's pet AI is indeed terrible and lacks good interactivity. And as Sorc updates are further delayed, player complaints and dissatisfaction will only accumulate.

The Poison theme on DK was partly Geologic, for Noxious Gasses like Hydrogen Sulfide.

But yeah Poison in Green Balance damage skills would be really cool.

Summoning Daedra has always been a thing but my gripe with it is that, gameplay-wise, it doesn't feel like you're summoning demons from another realm, the NPCs don't react to you summoning a clannfear in the middle of Auridon, but if I dare to transform into a WW, they try to kill me. Apart from that, afaik in lore Winged Twilights can talk, but ours in game are completely silent. In Warcraft whenever you summoned a Warlock pet it would go "I do not belong here" or "Why have you summoned me" and it really felt like you were ripping a creature into a world it isn't meant to be in.

But yeah, even if they gave us 10 new pet styles, it wouldn't fix the problem of everyone running around with them, constantly blocking the camera. It even happens to me with my Winged Twilight, trying to get a runestone or mine something and it gets right in my path

I’d really like to see the Warden have a more viable Frost-focused playstyle. Right now, Frost feels more like a side option rather than a real specialization.

One way to make it work would be to lower the cost of some Frost abilities and add another ability that allows for more consistent Frost spam/uptime. Ideally, there could even be a Frost ability that scales with Stamina, giving players another resource-based option and making a Frost-focused build feel more distinct.

I’d also love to see some of the existing skill morphs become more elementally distinct instead of just being numerical variations. For example, the Betty Netch morphs could have completely different visuals: one could summon an animal/bird-of-prey version, like an eagle, while the other could summon something more Frost-themed, such as an icy creature or frozen spirit. That would make the morph choice feel much more meaningful and visually rewarding.

Personally, though, my original idea would have been to avoid simply adding another Frost skill line. Instead, I would have loved to see a completely new Astral Magic skill line focused on things like the Moon and Sun, or alternatively a Shapeshifter skill line.

Then you could combine Frost with two additional themes and turn the Warden into a much more cohesive nature/elemental class fantasy, with each skill line having its own strong identity and playstyle.

That would make the class feel much deeper and give players more freedom to build around a specific fantasy rather than just picking the currently strongest skills.

I'd love to see more water skills on any class (preferably Sorc since we don't have a way to change our classes, and you can sublcass only one skill line from a class, but that's wishful thinking), that's for sure.

At the moment the main thing I'm hoping for with the warden rework is that they'll take their own realisations about not being able to give a definite timescale yet and needing to factor player feedback and iteration into the process to the logical conclusion and use the PTS to actually test things instead of simply previewing what they've already decided will be released no matter what.

Put stuff on the PTS without a release date, let players experiment with it and give feedback, reiterate, and keep it going until it's ready to be released. I'm not going to say 'until everyone agrees it's ready' or 'until everyone is happy' because that will never happen, but until ZOS are confident they won't be scheduling hot fixes and further updates as soon as it goes live.

I'd also like them to keep the existing animations as skill styles. I love that they're moving away from the Morrowind theme, and for my breton warden that will be a big improvement, but it would be a shame to scrap animations which are already in the game when we have a system to choose between animations for each skill, and for some wardens the existing ones might be better. For example a bosmer warden might prefer to summon bugs instead of a gryphon. (I know the shalk are native to Morrowind, but they can pass for thunderbugs.)

Finally I'm hoping for the same thing I've wanted since the warden was announced: more skill styles for the bear, including other animals. Ideally I'd like a grey wolf (as in a plain wolf, with no special effects except the 1 the morph adds) but if they do keep the existing animations as skill styles it would also be a good opportunity to finally add in something Morrowind themed for the bear, which always seemed like the odd one out in that skill line.

They listen to wrong crowd unfortunately, everyone shouldn't be forced to have this girly weakling effect on their character, my warden Wablo Wescobar is a tough g, he runs the back streets of Stormhold, he swims in skooma and owns plantations where moon sugar is grown and grinded down to finest powder in all of Daggerfall covenant to supply skooma fiends all over Tamriel.

This ain't no BarbieGirls mmo, Argonians and Khajiits die in the streets daily, dodging guards and their convicts. Product's moving fast siging:

Treated like a slave, the moon sugar fields have to be ready
The spirit of my people is starving, broken and sweaty
Dreaming about Ebonheart Pact taking over looking at my machete
But the workload is too heavy to rise up in arms

I wish then that the skill from the preview will come with a skill style that won't reduce your character's testosterone levels.

There may be many, but it's nonetheless a killer of many, and it's a seasonal thing, so it fits a nature seasonal theme.

Not all females are the same, some are Chun-Li or Michele Yeoh types. Why say 'girly' Iike it's a bad thing to be a girl.

Not sure with examples such as van goghs sunflowers and irises or Monets gardens anyone should in their right minds link flowers to females.

However, id rather be a kick ass fighting female and I agree there needs to balance in how wardens are portrayed. This is about calling in the deadly side of nature, and nature can be brutal and awe-ful as well as beautiful.

By the way I don't think it should include calling in spirits of nature such as spriggans, (or naiads or dryads or such things tamriel doesn't have). I think it's plants and animals only.

    I feel the same.

I'm still hoping for more poison damage in the kit for magicka users, but I guess we'll have to see when they are ready to present new skills.
Visually, it's already a massive glow-up already, and it's still WIP.

From what I can see and gather, we might get many new skills; maybe more than DK got.
So chances for synergy on DPS are not zero.
