If the arguments against nerfs are better than the arguments for nerfs, there should be no issue.
Just buffing everything because it feels cozy is plain stupid. It is an immature attitude not fit for problem solving.
What’s immature is thinking anyone is owed an argument at all, at the end of the day it’s a video game not a courtroom, people saying “I want this” is more valid than any argument because this is a product and the customer is king.
So if a handful of people here make the crispiest argument while the majority of happy players are playing the game and not busy coming to forums begging for nerfs and changes, the smart business move would be to go by the audience, not the small vocal minority here.
Which is the case more times than not. Listening to reddit level debate tactics and caving to demands every time there’s a nerf thread was a mistake so much that they rightfully stated they wouldn’t be doing this while refreshes were underway and it’s a shame they didn’t stick to that promise.
So what is the consequence of this statement? "Shut up and be happy?"
If the feedback is worthless that should be easy to decide. If the feedback has merit it can lead to improvements.
Just because a lot of people are enjoying their unfair advantages, it doesn't mean that people on the receiving end are wrong.
This is literally the simplest possible argument to agree on on this forum. Not even being OK with that is just an absurd display of bias.
If you cant see the difference between leaving feedback and filling up threads with attacks against people with opinions one dislikes disguised as debating then I cant help you.
Thats whats happening not some poor attack on good faith good natured debaters. Only recently has this improved, it was a nasty wave of people trolling threads prior, til zos finally put in nerfs for all the top performing classes.

Just sick of the constant whinging by clapped cheeks. Zos are still balancing classes, we're mid-stream, and people want us to row in circles because their pet classes havent been rebalanced yet. Maybe it is zos's fault for taking too long, Microsoft's for cutting staff, but some of the playerbase are being insufferable.

PvE players ARE NOT victims of the PvP players. They just aren't.
Sets and skills are nerfed because they are over performing. It's just that the PvP players typically know how to make builds better than most PvE players and can get more out of them, so the OP nature of something is more obvious in a PvP environment.
If anyone is wondering why there is animosity between the PvP players and the PvE players, just read the original post. The PvE players have convinced themselves that they are somehow victims of the PvP players.
That's not how it works. They're two entirely different game modes with different rulesets. Other players are not the same as NPCs, things need to be fairly balanced against other players, they DON'T need to be "fairly" balanced around NPCs. NPCs have different Armor ratings, can't Crit and don't have any Crit resist, they have no Pen value afaik. They don't use Sets that can impact players. The balance that needs to be achieved in PvE is not the same as the balance that there needs to be in PvP.JustLovely wrote: »playsforfun wrote: »Nearly every post these days on this forum is a nerf this & nerf that for the sake of PvP, I for one am getting sick of seeing it & having nerfs in PvE & PvP for the sake of PvP balance to the point I am questioning if I should continue playing the game I have played since beta if the nerf hammer is going to keep effecting builds I do, mats ain't cheap & it's time consuming.

See my bolded addition to the quote.
That's no reason to nerf those sets and skills in PvE.
The problem here isn't the different performance of sets and skills in PvP and PvE, it's the refusal by ZOS to tweak them seperately in PvP and PvE the way that other games do.
Anything that is over performing in PvP is also over performing in PvE.

A rotation that hits a mob for 50k isn't overperforming. That same rotation will hit a lot weaker in PvP because of a number of reasons, like Battle Spirit. Skills that are fairly useless against mobs may be really good against other players, Skills that are great against other players might not work as well against mobs.
You can't claim X being too powerful in Y means it's also OP in Z when Y and Z work on different rules and stats.

Well said.
Also, while having broadly equal classes in PvE may be desirable if you want to avoid having the game dominated by certain OP classes, it's much more essential in PvP. While I happily solo in PvE with multiple characters of assorted classes it doesn't bother me at all whether they are equal in ability, but if I were playing in PvP I would certainly want to feel that I was playing on a level playing field with those running different classes.
So what may be necessary tweaking for one content isn't automatically necessary for a different content.

I sentence the OP to 50 hours of mandatory cyrodiil front lines for this offense. You will come to love the labors of balance and suffer its faults until then.

People who wanted to try to do Veterancy and thought it was fun to play the new WW and DK are walking away from the game now. They are already off the collapsing trial rosters. So are the Wardens and Signet users you had ruined. So are the Sorcerers you want gutted. And they aren’t going to attempt to finish it, aren’t going to wait for reworks and have and are still moving into other games now. Just because the other 6 Classes have bad Sustain doesn't mean you ruin the 2 that don't. They aren't broken and neither is Sorcerer. You finish the other ones. And the more people that read these threads and see it's the same toxic people, with the same bad attitudes and the constant calls to ruin everyone's characters, the more people understand that investing another penny in this game is pointless. It's the same thing as paying ball groups and nerf callers to ruin the entire game while every one of you demonize the subscription of millions of other people. Whether they play PvP or not. Because you died, and everyone else should be nerfed🤡
It is abundantly clear to everyone that every single one of our characters will be immediately destroyed upon release now. And they are being destroyed. Nerfs have never, do not and will never create balance. They have not created balance in 11 years! You are attempting to prop up a broken and unbalanceable state of combat that is a subdivision of what was once one of the greatest MMOs of all time. Even suggesting otherwise is fallacy. Show me when balance was achieved in 11 straight years of nerfs.
It's time to try the only thing we have never tried. That's STOPPING THE NERFS. It's time to stop letting an absolute minority of Ball Groups and nerf callers influence more bad decisions by Zos. I strongly urge the developers to investigate Guild activity, Group Finder activity, PvP player counts and ques in relation to these unjustified, unreasonable and game killing nerfs. And check the percentages against the entire overall game population in direct correlation to them. Not just the smallest pond of people who want clicks on their streams and websites. And do a complete in game survey of the entire game population about the reality if where these nerfs stem from and how many people have left and are expected to leave when they happen. And incorporate it against the same numbers over the entire history of Eso. And also to take back control of their own combat system, hire professionals and eliminate the PTS in its entirety.
Something has to change. What has been going on and is going on is not going to work anymore.

Im not campaigning for any changes. I was just making a joke and youre talking about the 'same old toxic players.'
This games on borrowed time. Enjoy it or dont, the changes matter not. Their main goal is to make changes to give the perception that theyre listening.
If I had any say in the matter Id ignore your 'nerf nothing, only buff for dopamine' approach.
