How many Unformed Planar Keys is too many?

Speaking of the Nowhere Vault, anyone from PTS know how hard it's going to be to get the Gem of Cunning? It drops in there. Hoping it won't be has hard to get as the Gem of Agility was from DEs lol...

I didn’t notice how long it took me to get it exactly but I got it fairly early on in my journey.

that's odd. and it wont stack if you hold down thumbstick? have you tried pulling into character inventory and back to bank?

Have you tried running them with a group?
In a conversation, one soul suggested they may have received so many because they were in the group. The others in the conversation confessed they had been running solo and various times during the day. ESO favors groups so maybe that is the difference between those that have found them and those that have not. It may not be, but nothing is lost in trying.

If it is so, that is reeeeealy strange game-design decision. I can see the point encouraging players to get in groups for content and even I, convinced solo-player and forever-alone, see no problems with it when the situation requires it (that's why I had no struggles with said Night Market and got there my portion of joy). But to get in groups only for looting chests? What a waste of everyone's time...
Also, for completeness, I run more than couple trials (for Tome's Weekly Challenges) since that keys sistem was launched, and got not a single key from chests there either, though clearly I was in full group then.

Did you collect them on toons of different levels? I read somewhere that they do not stack in this case (although I have no idea why that would be necessary).

HI All, just wanted to follow up here. The team has a fix for the stacking of the Unformed Planar Keys for Update 51. So they should stack more nicely post update.

Is there any info on the drop rate? The only keys I have on my account are the six keys that I got from doing the 20 favors for each patron. Having engaged in a lot of the other activities that were supposed to drop keys, but have never gotten a single one from any of them and I’m just worried what this means going forward after the Vault goes live, especially since it sounds like you can end up using more than one key in a single run.

I got my first Planar Key today for doing the 10th favor for one of those guys (9 for each of the other two). That's the only one I have. Strangely enough, the resp. seasonal challenge of the Tamriel tome says I have 3... what gives...?

Last night I got 2 more keys from Thieves Troves, one in Grahtwood and one in Reapers March, so I was thinking maybe the drop rate had been increased. This makes 3 I've received from Thieves Troves while just wandering around doing things, as I'm not actively looking for Thieve Troves. None from anywhere else, except the Freerunner quests.

I have still only received 1 key from any source other than the Favours quests... and that's across both EU (none at all) and NA (1 from a thieves trove).

I've received at least two from Thieves Troves, as I noticed they needed to be laundered from my inventory. I received one more very early on, the first day or two since these began appearing, and I am not sure the source on that one. Otherwise, the only ones I have were from the Favours, making 9 total.

I am not sure if these are currently dropping from anything except Favours and Thieves Troves. @ZOS_Kevin , can you please confirm if this is being looked at?

There is a bug where moving the keys to and from the bank causes the challenge to advance. Some people have also reported theirs advancing somehow without using the bank, so there might also be some other similar bug.

It would be good if the team could explain why gating a new feature behind a random drop is a good idea. If you want to encourage people to participate but not 'too much' then just give an allowed number of runs per week like you do with challenge rerolls.

So far not a single drop after the very first one ages ago, not from a quest nor from a dynamic thing or from a thieves trove either. Why is this reliant on RNG in the first place?

This is great and all but has the matter about how rare Keys currently are been addressed by the dev team? The only thing we've heard about it was like a month or so ago when it was said the problem would be passed on to them and then nothing at all since then. I know I've said this probably over a dozen times now but in the June livestream Jason mentioned they aren't meant to be rare.

Even the patch notes for Week 2 mention they're only supposed to be uncommon drops, and while on the PTS I've gotten several from testing things, on Live I've gotten not a single one. That indicates there's definitely a difference in drop rates between Live and the PTS. But is the current drop rate intended and it'll go up qhen U51 goes live? Or is it bugged?
