How to escape a story instance

I'm trying to kill Vaermina in "An Unhealthy Fate" and after 20 or so deaths, it's clear I cannot do that. When I'm offered ghost sight to kill the adds, I can kill some, but I become less armored and cannot use my heal skills so I die. And if I don't use Ghost Sight I do no damage to the adds. So I work her down by a 1/3 or so and then die and start over. I'm stuck here and cannot get out. Use Wayshrine rezes me here. Jumping off platform brings me right back. HOW DO I GET OUT?
I guess I'll try abandon quest and see if that does it.
What the heck? How do you escape an encounter you cannot finish?

Windy_Player✭✭✭Ok when I brought up the quest journal there was an abandon at the bottom of the screen.
I have done this whole quest line a while ago successfully. Looks like it got harder.
So Ghost Site allows you to kill adds, but makes you squishy and takes your heals away.
Oh well. Plenty more zones to play in the game.
