Since when is Relequen no longer working in PvP?

I just discovered that Relequen is effectively useless in PvP now cause the stacks only last for 1 second on players, did I miss it in some patch notes or did it get shadownerfed?

Ok, so it´s a recent change without any mention in any patch notes. Disappointing to see yet another niche set rendered useless. When are Aerie´s Cry, Pyrebrand and Savage Werewolf getting nerfed then? These sets are still actually usable and probably even stronger than they should be. While we´re at it, can we not just remove all sets from PvP? I guess that´s where Vengeance comes in, lol. This game, smh.

So much for "transparency", what a terrible change. The set was perfect to apply pressure against perma-blockers. Why do they want to reinforce this play style that would have every PvPer using Rallying Cry paired with some other boring defensive set. A big blow to build diversity, but I suppose that's what we've been heading towards with Vengeance.

Relequeen was absurdly overpowered in duel environmeants. It kind of deserved the nerf. This is not a rele issue only, but no proc set should outperform any dmg skill of the type.

I can agree with you on the duelling part, although I personally don´t duel. In this heavy block and tank meta Relequen was one of the few options for a ranged build/bowsorc for me to actually put pressure on some of those people.
And it still was very niche. As soon as you were not in a 1v1 situation and played vs more than 2 or 3 people it became very tricky to apply enough stacks to make it worth the hassle, cause it only started to deal good damage at ~5 stacks. So you *already* needed 5 lightattacks to hit as much as any other proc set. And then you got a pay off for consistently hitting light attacks.
Combine that with light attacks not connecting due to lag, line of sight, invisibility, purges, *wings* that give 50% freaking ranged damage mitigation (totally balanced) and roll dodges. Any decent player had quite a few options to counter Relequen reliably and I´ve still seen *a lot* of people who could still just outplay me with my 4 damage sets by simply holding right click (block nerf when?) just to turn on me with Onslaught-Whip or 500 Balorgh Dawnbreaker etc etc..
And instead of balancing it in a way that makes it so it´s not too strong but usable, like for example ~6 stacks max vs players, or 3 seconds duration vs players, I can just decon it. Another set that I farmed mainly for PvP that is just gone now.

just one less option in the already not so big pool, guess I´ll put null arca on yet another char instead.

This could honestly be an oversight by the developers given the shakeup recently but I'm genuinely surprised a set so well known/utilized could have such a change slip through the cracks in regards to patch notes.

Yeah it caught me by surprise as well. I ran with it in IC yesterday and had to play like 3 battlegrounds today until I figured that something was off and it took me some testing to eventually realize that it simply doesn´t work anymore. I could see how it got overlooked with everything going on, still frustrating tho.

On my bowsorc, ive had decent luck with jeralls + snake in stars or serpents distain. Just been using wield soul with bleed to also get that status.

The fact that such patch notes have been missed for years makes me think this was just one more, yeah. It was missed in notes from late April-early June, so well before the layoffs that were announced in early July.

They’ve missed notes on Azureblight when that was meta, and they didn’t mention when they changed Flurry from being DoT to direct back in 2019 (a change that made it no longer eligible to be buffed by its own ability-altering weapon). Those are just two of the major ones that come to mind immediately—there have been many, many others.

The patch notes that were missed and corrected have turned out to be unintentional. They have gone back to add some that were caught (like one about Azure, or recently Pirharrhi dropping her fee), but some remain only in forum posts and UESP notes (like this one, and the one about Flurry, etc.). Like you, I’d figure these are oversights. It sucks to be on the receiving end of them, for sure.
