'Beam' ability for all classes?

Is it intended for all classes to get a 'beam' like WW and DK did during their rework?

    yes very likely.
Here is a quote from the Dragonknight website post from January:
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/69219
Engulfing Dragonfire (originally Engulfing Flames): This morph is now the rework morph, which costs Magicka instead of Stamina. This morph now channels the flame attack in front of you over 4.8 seconds and deals 20% increased damage when it hits an enemy, up to once every second, and up to a maximum of 80%. While Take Flight is active, this deals maximum damage. The damage is considered direct damage.

For being called a Dragonknight, the class has always been missing the most iconic feeling of being a dragon: unleashing unabated flame upon their foes with a channeled flame breath. We also realize that many of our players have expressed the desire to enjoy the game at a slower pace, and as we’ve introduced similar attacks into higher levels of play with Heavy Attack builds and Fatecarver, we want to make sure there are more flavors to this experience, each with their own distinctions in how you build and play. This morph won’t be bringing the same heat as either of those builds alone, but it should help take some pressure off constantly needing to press down the gas pedal (buttons).

Unfortunately it does seem that every class is going to get at least one skill of that style.

Fatecarver is the only one so far that has performed very highly. The DK one is not ranking high on DPS charts, and it's a nice quality-of-life tool for players. I wish they made it a bit more rewarding somehow without being too overpowered/easy.

No more beams please! Remove light attack weaving if 3 buttons is too many. Its been over a year of a broken Subclass beam and 4 years of the Arcanist being better than everything and our HA Builds trashed as we were forced into the green beam. Take the Cleave off of the damned Arcanist Beam. Or, every Class gets ranged Cleave. And for the love of the Divines, fix my damned Warden and keep the beam off of it.

I would not mind having beams on every class. My only question is how would they even do it (especially with Necromancer. What you going to do? Throw a bunch of etherial scythes down range at everyone infront of you)? If anything, I would first look into animation canceling and how to stop it. If they want an easier time for people, then use those animations to create space between button presses. That is what animations should be doing.

But, between this (enforcing unskippable animations) or doing a beam, they are at least trying something that guarantees an active effect that lasts a few seconds and gives the fingers and buttons a small break.

I mean, they could do something like rework ghostly embrace into a channeled attack where a bunch of skeletons partially unearth from the ground and go ballistic in said area.

They could shift animate blastbone's type of effect to it as well to make it interract with corpses. But have the blastbones only work at 33% effectiveness.

Not every class needs a beam. Sometimes unique identity is better than reskinned uniformity.

I think every class could use a channeled skill as an option provided it actually interacts with said classes mechanics in an interesting or unique way.

I think every class will get some kind of low-APM spec. May not always be in the form of a channelled beam.

It is what people seem to want though, if you take a look at the history of balance related posts on the forums.
