We should at the very least get 1 free option for an appearance change after character creation. Since the character creation screen is darker than than most areas in game and you can't really get a good impression of how your character actually looks in game.
It should also be noted that the real TES games have that option right before you leave the tutorial dungeon.

This actually does feel like a good compromise, I made a Khajiit who I thought had black hair, and then testing out different hairstyles most of them are like a dark blue, and it looks ridiculous

Give us a free "change your appearance" token, or adding some kind of light toggle or background toggle where we can change between different areas (so ones daylight, one's night time etc) would be the best fix. I feel like the second one would be easier as character creation changed a few times, they'd just have to put in a "toggle background" prompt.

While I agree with you OP, I like the oldschool way ESO does it. It makes your decisions at character creation actually matter.

I'm sorry but this is stupid argument. Kill or not to kill certain quest NPC, side with one fraction or another for example are DECISIONS with consequences.
Choosing hairstyle or dye color are not.

This is a basic functionality of practically every single game today.

    1) We should be able to swap between Base Game hairstyles without spending 1k crowns. I don't even spend $10 to get my own hair cut (i shave my own head).

    2) The dyes we unlock should also be able to change our hair color, to include base and crown bought hairstyles, and two-tone hair styles you should be able to change both. Just add it to the Costume station.

Even if you don't agree with #1 for the sake of crown spending, there is no reason why we cannot implement #2.

Because thats a significant source of the crownstore revenues duh...

Oh, you know what would be really great? Appearance change tokens as tome rewards. I know they have a fairly high crown cost, so just one per season would be good enough.

Actually yeah, since they're already giving away the outfit change tokens on the paid tier, if they gave us let's say, one on page 10 or the bonus pages, that would give people more incentive to grind them out apart from seals and bars

(Which reminds me I'm almost out of my outfit tokens they used to give away for daily log in iirc)

I think giving us a barber shop is a good idea, as for the crown store hairstyle pack, obviously they'll never make it free, but I think giving us a limited choice from them, at least the basics like a ponytail or being bald could work for a barbershop, you still have an incentive to buy the pack, but if you want simple changes you have the barber

I think it's baffling that I have to dish out 1k crowns just to be have a shaved head, and then get saddled with all the other hairstyles too, the only other choice is remaking the character or buying an appearance token

This is NOT a Medieval setting.

That would be amazing. They could even lock it to that specific character so people can't make a character for the Token, then delete them and make another character for the Token, rinse and repeat for any number of days.

They also REALLY need to make the lighting neutral for character creation, it's so dark and very hard to tell with certain features how it actually looks in the in-game lighting. That alone would do wonders.

Crown Store does not have option for hair dyes. Nothing does. We unlock dyes with achievements why not allow those dyes to be used for hair as well? There are plenty of dyes that do not look good on armor but might make excellent hair colors and still keep the crown store for hair styles.

Eh, like every single Fantasy universe it's not anything, it's a hodgepodge of anachronisms and things from every era, you can wear almost first century lorica segmentata as an Imperial and go against knights in 1400s level of plate armor (Remember the High Isle Knight) Dwemer are almost I'd say 19th century technology levels of advanced

Reminds me of how in Warcraft you have trains and airplanes and guns but everyone runs around with swords and leather armor
