I mean, genuinely, what was the point of NM skill scrolls? I like that ZOS tried something new, but did anyone ever find a use for these that was worth sacrificing the potion cooldown for?

I think we'll see more people using Skill Scrolls that...
    1. ...are easier to source than the Night Market.
    2. ...are not time gated behind a limited time event that may not return.
    3. ...are of more useful skills that would otherwise be impossible for your build, such as Class abilities from a different Class while you are Pureclassed, or Vampire/Werewolf abilities while you do not have said curse.

Remember, these are not the last Skill Scrolls we'll see! We got a survey about Skill Scrolls during the Update 49 PTS, and we know that more Skill Scrolls are on the table for the future.

I think the problem is that Skill Scrolls are/were tied to a limited time mode, so for them to not be made meta/mandatory in raids or PvP they had to make them gimmicky at best so people wouldn't have to go out of their way to grind a limited time mode for what is essentially a consumable limited time item that gives you an advantage.

The thing is I think the idea is actually decent in theory, being temporary access to another skill not on your bar, but since they're so weak in their current iteration nobody is going to drop their potion healing/sustain/heroism/invisibility/immovable etc for them. If Skill Scrolls had a bigger variety of skill options, had a farming source that wasn't stuck to a limited time mode and were sellable I could see how they might have some use.

The idea is good but execution poor.

They should be wild abilities not found anywhere else in the game for example a Sheo special that turns mobs mini or into goats like IA content. They shouldn't be based on existing skills.

They weren't very accessible. You had to slot them into that quick wheel thingy and they use them. Well, I keep my pot there and am not gonna meddle with it midfight.

I saved all of mine. I didn't use any in the Night Market, but I plan to use them in other content, such as dungeons where I may need an extra boost.

I have stacks of them on various characters and I'll probably just delete them.

Having to slot the scrolls in advance, then determine which scroll to use mid-battle when what I really want is to have my pots loaded and ready, wasn't the best execution of the idea. It would have been better to consume a scroll pre-battle, for a buff or random effect or something during the fight.

I thought the lasting buffs from completing content were a better idea and generally well done - e.g. the ring of fire from the spider invasion oddity, or the extended health buffs, or speed. A small number of well-led groups I found myself in were collecting these buffs before engaging in the big fights.

I found the best use of them was "Mark as Junk" and then I will delete them all after the event is over.

Just more trash to clog up our Inventory until we decide to delete or DESTROY them (I'm not sure which since I haven't done either...yet.)

These are in my bank too. I was hoping maybe I could sell them down the road or something. I don’t care to slot a one time use item.

All in bank, since they were new and thought maybe they'll come in handy. A bit the same with the consumables in IA.
Considering its a time limited event, and it has to be used via Quckslot, I think I will just trash them, even if the event comes back later.

Probably just to add something different into the mix. They aren't necessarily limited-time drops (they're just loot in a loot pool), but they do allow an ability usage for a class which the player may not have available on that character. I'm going to end up destroying mine since they share the potion cooldown timer and I really prefer to keep potion timers for potions. Plus they are account-bound and cannot be sold, but they're an interesting idea that just doesn't happen to appeal to me and my style of play.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
