Furniture vault access removed, 1000x less likely to spend $ with ZOS now

I purchased ESO+ in large part to get the furniture vault. Now that my ESO+ subscription has run out, I can't use the furniture vault anymore. So why the hell did I buy the vault in the first place?

Is there anything about ZOS' marketing practices that isn't predatory and deceptive?

I now know better than to spend money with ZOS. Never again.

Making the Furnishing Vault not require an ESO Plus subscription would diminish the value of the subscription. You wouldn't expect the Craft Bag to be unlocked permanently, would you?

It's marked as a (free) plus exclusive. Which means no plus no access same as with all other plus exclusives like the craft bag.

You can still withdraw furniture from it, you just cannot add anything.

The craft bag is clearly marked as being part of ESO+. The furniture vault is NOT marked as being part of ESO+. It only says you have to have ESO+ to purchase the furniture vault. Nowhere does it say you will lose access to the furniture vault if you don't have ESO+.

It's all good though. Now I know to never do housing and to radically limit the money I spend with ZOS. I'm a PvP main anyway, and ZOS most likely taking Cyrodiil away soon too, so I'll just request a refund for the 21k crown pack I just purchased in preparation for engaging in housing and move on.

These kinds of marketing practices aren't for me. I don't do business with companies that aren't up front with these kinds of things. This is the kind of treatment I expect from a shady insurance company. "Oh, sorry, your premium doesn't cover that".

IT'S NOT FREE IF YOU HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING ELSE TO GET IT! I paid $15 for the furniture vault and ZOS took it away.

I hear you. Zerrith-Var was free with an ESO+ subscription and when my ESO+ expired I get to keep the companion with ALL of his functions. So why is the furniture vault different?

If you click on the website to see features of ESO+, it does not list the furniture vault so I can see people being confused about being able to get/keep the companions but losing the vault. They should not have to dig through patch notes to find out details on what they get and what they lose. Even the disclaimer at the bottom (fine print) doesn't tell them they can lose the vault access.

1In the event your ESO Plus membership expires, you'll still be able to access any resources stored in your Craft Bag; you just won't be able to add new materials to it. 2Total Crown allotment will be delivered at the time of purchase. 3Access to DLC game packs available in the Crown Store and character progression bonuses available for the duration of membership. Any progress made using the progression bonuses during the time of membership will remain. 4If claimed from the Crown Store previously, you will retain Tanlorin and Zerith-var in the event your ESO Plus membership expires. 5Increase is for the Alliance Point currency, PvP Skill Lines, and Alliance rank only. Not Alliance War leaderboards or Rewards for the Worthy grant rate. Tel Var Stones increase for stones earned from monster kills only.

It is more clearly mentioned in the in-game Help menu -> ESO Plus -> Furnishing Vault section:

So once again, you should not have to dig around to find out something. They have a nice page that lists all the features you get with ESO+, it should mention it there.

They even have a more details page that has a small clicky link at the bottom and it does not even mention it there.

The vault is set up like the companions where you can purchase it if you have ESO+ but does not have the disclaimer in the guide or benefits page letting you know that you cannot add to it once your ESO+ expires like it tells you for the craft bag.

That would require people to actually read and look for information. Maybe when this game first came out you could count on that ability, but today's gamers just want to be spoon-fed while they sit there.
