WOW - you get NOTHING while reviving during a skirmish

This is unbelievable - you die in a Skirmish and have done 99% of the work and are reviving while the team kills the boss and you get NOTHING - no drop no favor no quest done!
what is this???? This is clearly a bug and if not its just gross.

Ok, just to double check because I’ve seen players confused about this - the skirmish reward comes from a chest and not from the body of the boss. You did not see a chest?

I believe what may be happening is that when you rez, the combat timer “restarts” for your character. If you have an addon that tracks DPS you will see this. So if you do no damage between rezzing and the skirmish boss dying the game seems to register that you did not participate in the fight. If this is the case then ZOS should absolutely fix this.

I am 100% sure - no chest, no favor, no quest done - this has to be a bug and has to be fixed with high priority

If you want to call it a bug, it is a long standing one. It has always been the case that if you die during an encounter, for instance a world boss, your participation resets and you need to reach damage/healing done again to get credit. If the boss dies before this, you won't get credited, regardless how much damage you did before dying. So if you're not sure the time will suffice, you need to stay dead on the ground and only revive after the encounter completed.

I don't know if this is a bug or an intended mechanic, but I agree it should be changed because it actively discourages reviving and further participation out of fear of missing out on the reward.

I've had this happen too - a couple times - both on skirmishes and on the calamitous bosses. If you are either dead or reviving when the boss dies, you miss the drop. Being in a group doesn't protect you either.

yeah and a world boss that takes 1min to fight is also a lot less effort - the only thing this encourages is not reviving anyone, standing back as far as possible from danger and being just really not useful to the group...

on top usually only your active group is doing a skirmish and no one else

this has now happened THE SECOND time within 2 hours - got eaten by the calamity right at the end of the Skirmish im sorry but this is COMPLETELY killing any desire to even start the game let alone enter the nightmare market - this is grossly offensively wasting my time im so mad i could punch through the wall im not gonna lie - ive never been SO annoyed by this game in 10 years

To call this horrible abysmal design would be a compliment - why is this a thing??????

what an absolute joke… just happened to me too. no chests, no rewards after Sorrow’s Friend, and after wasting nearly 20 minutes in that ridiculous fight that just keeps respawning over and over because apparently tanks and healers don’t exist anymore. and then sitting there for 30 seconds as a ghost every time?? seriously?? c’mon XoS , this isn’t even funny anymore, it’s just straight-up garbage design. what a complete waste of time.

This is something that needs fixed. It should remember you were in the fight. If you respawn at an oasis and come back but don’t hit anything before the boss dies, you don’t get any credit. Feels bad.

This is 100% the case. Die and boss dies while you are reviving and you get nothing. Happened to me in skittering, and was literally the last thing I needed to complete my relic. Had to wait the cool down and do it all again. I was also the solo tank, so clearly contributed.

why the hell do people have to respawn so far away from the fight?? it makes absolutely no sense. instead of jumping back in and actually helping, you’re stuck wasting time running back like it’s some kind of punishment. it completely kills the flow and just drags everything out for no reason.
honestly, this whole design feels so damn bad… it’s frustrating, clunky, and just makes an already annoying fight even worse. who thought this was a good idea??

players exclude players from Trials\Dungeons… ZoS goes ahead and excludes casual players from solo content in [snip] Market, ZoS excludes people from engaging in the fight, and somehow even manages to exclude players from getting their rewards... c’mon… seriously. give us one break here. not everything needs to feel like a punishment just for trying to participate.

No? I respect your opinion, but if you ask me, yes, they are!

I say that for a lot of reasons, but if you want one example, I’ll talk about completing quests in the [snip] Market.

You have friends to do it with? Great. You have guilds or Discord groups? Even better. I don’t, and I don’t want to rely on them.

I can use the group finder. So please, make a video of yourself using it to form a group, and then go complete the quests with random PUGs. Just remember, you’re in a group, because that’s how this content was designed to be played, right?

The [snip] Market was developed with group play in mind. So go use the finder, join random groups, and run it with PUGs. Post the video and try to change my mind, please.

If the boss still has a lot of health, click respawn and make your way back to the fight to prevent the encounter from resetting if everyone dies.

BUT, if the boss is almost dead, just stay dead and you will still be considered as part of the encounter. Then once the boss dies you should see the chest spawn and can then click respawn and make your way back to the chest to loot it. This only works if you are in a group or if you have active hots or buffs up on other players in the encounter.

    Way to overreact....

If you die and the boss is going to die 5 seconds, just stay dead for 5 seconds until it dies. You're not hanging out for 5 minutes while dead, you're waiting literally 5 extra seconds for the other players to kill the boss.

It's pretty easy to use your brain to determine how fast the boss is dying and how long it'll take you to get back to the fight. If it looks like the boss will die before you can get back to the fight, just wait the few seconds it will take.

Furthering this, most of the groups I've been in have been rezzing folks after the skirmish or a boss fight is over. Not all the groups, but I'm always rezzing folks regardless. I've over 10k soul gems—I can spot revives. :D

Also if folks are in ghost form, they can still rez folks who are dead to help with the fight as well.

last night i was playing tank ( trying to work with others) only to get no heals , as the HEALER/LEADER of the group was hiding out behide a wall letting their group do all the work and right at .03% i died , and yep you guessed it no-one would pick-up the player that only died once and tanked both the bosses that was at the fight so i had to release and come back for my drops and both bosses was able to be picked up so again ive had it so i got drop in skirmish and argent/ boss fights after dying to them really close to the ending so again i think this comes down to how many players are involved in the fight not if you die or not

Just wanted to check: has this bug been fixed, or do players still have to remain dead in "forced group content"(effectively excluding them from group) to avoid losing their reward if the boss dies while they’re still within the 30-second respawn timer?

While of course the market has issues, let's try to be real for a second. You can read countless posts from players saying they're having success using the group finder to get their stuff done. It's not as if these players are a cabal trying to deceive you.

I have 11 accounts in total (for my own guilds). My main account has 10 characters, and if I want to complete all 15 daily quests on all 10 characters (150 quests × 40 favors = 6,000 favors), it becomes really, really difficult. This could be fun (for me and “you”) and amazing if I (or “you”) could do them solo, without depending on anyone else. No? (I won’t argue if “you” disagree.)

Even if I use Group Finder with a description like “Only for all daily quests,” people join but some go for bosses or other quests instead. Usually, only 3 or 4 players actually follow the leader’s (or whoever is leading) instructions to complete the quests in order. That’s what I was referring to. Yes, we can do them. But can we complete all of them on all characters? Well, maybe… it won’t be easy, but okay, we can do it. If it were solo, it wouldn’t even be a question.
But I’ve already solved that problem.

I was actually asking about a “bug” when I brought this topic up again.

I don't disagree. While I may not find it fun to do 150 daily quests, and while I may think that's not really the purpose of the night market, if that's your fun then cool. I'm not against players being able to do it solo and have even said I would welcome a story mode for solo players that didn't grant keys. But here's the thing, night market is group content no matter which way you look at it and that's the way it is for the moment.
