Realized: Night Market is not for me. It may just not be for you too.

Let me cook for a bit...

Who is Night Market for?

I am CP 2.500 capable to solo anything overland, base game vhm, DLC normal, Arc5 IA - does this mean I should expect this to be tailored to me? No.

I am active in my guild chats, always reporting the news from the website (hyped up NM), but I avoid like the pest Trials and anything that would take me to join a premade group. Why? Expectations. I don't want to let down others and I don't want to be let down. Also, I hate Discord and voice chat. Still, I join random groups and help them any time I can with overland stuff.

I tried to solo NM for 2 hours, "tagging along" with whoever I'd find. It just doesn't work - stop telling is soloable. It is not. Solo the Golden Pursuit then let me know.

I was very excited about NM because I badly wanted the skin from GP, the golden dye and a monster set.
Sadly, having cramps to my hands from yesterday, I have to admit this is just not for me and leave it to the target players - who are they?

My conclusion is that NM targets organized Trials premade groups and well attuned guilds.

With the high difficulty, high amount of different tasks, and low population per instance - solo or pugging a group isn't a great idea. You could! But I'd not advise that.

I now get that NM is content for premade trial groups and guilds that's different from their usual content.
I am not the target for this content, nor is anyone who likes to solo IA, WBs, WEs with a companion because doesn't want to interact with other players.
It's just as simple as that.

So, since I am not the target for this content, I salute it.
Farewell to my rewards, but I can live without them - this game is huge and realistically I already have enough.
I won't fight to adjust the difficulty or anything to my likings because NM is not designed for me as a player. It's for another type of players, not me. So, I'll just move on. I'd advise anyone else who is not the target audience to just do the same. Let those players have the experience they are enjoying and cherishing. Good for them!
If this design choice will end up being a success or a failure for Zos remains to be seen, but I am not picking a side in that fight; gonna prioritize my health, and fights both on forum and in NM damage it.

EDIT:
IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't want to discourage anyone to try NM! I'm just suggesting it's not worth shouting for a nerf and get angry when you are not the target audience. Leave this content to the intended, happy audience - that's my conclusion, not being in the happy audience myself.

I'm mostly a solo player who was able to group with complete randoms and together we did fine.

There was no real organization other than staying together.

Needing an organized trial guild seems a bit much...

I wouldn't say this either though. I was able to kill every boss yesterday hopping around different PUGs via the group finder on a PvP build. It's the same level of difficulty as a normal trial, which has never required an organized group; just ANY group of 12 with the awareness to pay attention to mechanics.

Did you try to PUG it with the group finder? None of the PUGs I joined ever hit a brick wall. Yes, we died a few times, but never wiped to the point of the encounter resetting since the respawn is free and always ~10 seconds from the encounter.

My group didn't even have 12 and could kill all the bosses.

Pugging a group from the group finder is certainly an option for getting things done worked for me last night with very little effort and almost no chat in group chat. One boss required just a little bit of direction.

No friends around, guildies doing other things, just hit the group finder and give it a go. Don't let all the negative Nancy's scare you away before you try things out for yourself.

people should at least be open to new experiences and adapting...
the same people that complain that the night market is not the usual eso complained the last years that the usual eso was getting stale...

After the Writhing Fortress experience (which I loved, aside from bugs) I was expecting Night Market to be something similar, with groups formed organically, and cooperating without communicating, with everyone on the same objectives.

Right now we are at the first days, so obviously everyone wants to do everything, but I have seen players say they have already made 2.000 favor points in the first hours yesterday. So, I guess after highly skilled players will have "run the content" and got the achievements and rewards, all other players will start having a harder time wanting to clear scattered stuff without enough "levelled" people around.

Despite my love for Writhing Fortress experience, after it was done I've hardly seen anyone there when I returned - it was dead. It's not a novelty, this has always been the case for every DLC zone too.
I think in the end organized premade groups will be the one enjoying and completing and winning. Casual players with random builds... Not so much.

I like veteran DLC dungeons, have done some Challenger achieves and vet DLC trials. I want a challenge, but I find the Night Market to be quite sloggish so far. I'm keeping an open mind over the next week or so.

I do think it's good that they're trying this style. Maybe with the Challenge Difficulty system, they can make Night Market less sloggish and add Favor rewards for playing on higher difficulties, or other adjustments.
