Let me cook for a bit...
Who is Night Market for?
I am CP 2.500 capable to solo anything overland, base game vhm, DLC normal, Arc5 IA - does this mean I should expect this to be tailored to me? No.
I am active in my guild chats, always reporting the news from the website (hyped up NM), but I avoid like the pest Trials and anything that would take me to join a premade group. Why? Expectations. I don't want to let down others and I don't want to be let down. Also, I hate Discord and voice chat. Still, I join random groups and help them any time I can with overland stuff.
I tried to solo NM for 2 hours, "tagging along" with whoever I'd find. It just doesn't work - stop telling is soloable. It is not. Solo the Golden Pursuit then let me know.
I was very excited about NM because I badly wanted the skin from GP, the golden dye and a monster set.
Sadly, having cramps to my hands from yesterday, I have to admit this is just not for me and leave it to the target players - who are they?
My conclusion is that NM targets organized Trials premade groups and well attuned guilds.
With the high difficulty, high amount of different tasks, and low population per instance - solo or pugging a group isn't a great idea. You could! But I'd not advise that.
I now get that NM is content for premade trial groups and guilds that's different from their usual content.
I am not the target for this content, nor is anyone who likes to solo IA, WBs, WEs with a companion because doesn't want to interact with other players.
It's just as simple as that.
So, since I am not the target for this content, I salute it.
Farewell to my rewards, but I can live without them - this game is huge and realistically I already have enough.
I won't fight to adjust the difficulty or anything to my likings because NM is not designed for me as a player. It's for another type of players, not me. So, I'll just move on. I'd advise anyone else who is not the target audience to just do the same. Let those players have the experience they are enjoying and cherishing. Good for them!
If this design choice will end up being a success or a failure for Zos remains to be seen, but I am not picking a side in that fight; gonna prioritize my health, and fights both on forum and in NM damage it.

EDIT:
IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't want to discourage anyone to try NM! I'm just suggesting it's not worth shouting for a nerf and get angry when you are not the target audience. Leave this content to the intended, happy audience - that's my conclusion, not being in the happy audience myself.
