People are making it sound like we can just go into the Night Market solo and run around with a zerg-- "soft-grouped," I guess you would call it. But when I went in on PCEU a short while ago, I couldn't see any other players around, and I got insta-killed (twice) by the first "mob" I encountered just inside the entry to the zone, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to find any other players to zerg around with.

And I won't even get into how long it took me just to find the plaza so I could do the introductory quest, because I was running around Fargrave looking for a way in-- but apparently the only way to get in is to take a wayshrine in? So that was fun.

I want to give this new group content a chance-- and yes, I know it's group content, not solo content-- but it seems to be on the level of difficulty of a hard-mode veteran trial or something. I don't expect everything in the game to be accessible for me and completable by me, but I'm hoping to at least give this new content a chance before deciding whether to pkay it or forget it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll even be able to give it a try, the way it's looking right now.

Maybe it will be different on PCNA, but PCEU is looking like a complete no-go at the hours when I play, because apparently there aren't enough players online at those hours who are interested in this new content. :(

You’re wrong, just type +zerg tomorrow I’ll carry you :P we already smashed 2750 points, EUPC.

Don’t get why you want harder overworld content. First time there’s anything slightly challenging and forum is full of “I can’t solo group content” posts xD hello, this is MMO.

Event isn’t even hard. Also you can completely skip it, just get your motif and don’t continue, there’s not even that much reward in it.

Game is already extremely easy, only vet trials and DLC dungeons are actually fun.

Stop pushing this, I’m afraid they’ll take it in the wrong direction.

My initial experience with Night Market left a sour impression because nobody seemed to be around and I was constantly dying trying to get the quests done.

But eventually more players showed up, I just started tagging along with a group of about 10 others. I was able to get some quests done, I got a 3 skirmishes done. It was fun. Then it evaporated and I'm left alone in the Night Market again.

So it gets real fun when you can find people. But surprisingly there doesn't seem to be very many people participating on the first night. Hopefully it picks up. Because without a population, this thing isn't going to work.

I managed to get in about 800 faction points, nice start and I can see this being a lot of fun if the people show up.

Also would be nice if there was a way to see where other players are on the map. At the very least your own faction.

With a basic group of 5 people tonight we did nearly every fight in all three wings. It is hard. You have to do mechanics. Don't think it is too hard for the current state of the game. If you are struggling, get a group, makes it much easier.

Definitely a group thing but when you go in and see no one around, that kind of makes it annoying.

Don't know much about NM, but if the content is that hard and players are split into three factions, it's pretty much a dead zone on arrival.

Tbh it’s not too badly designed place. But, it’s all recycled content, there is nothing new, all reused from other places, and it heavily relies on players playing.

I do not see population supporting ease of meeting up with people as it appears to be a lot of areas completely deserted.

If you don't enjoy group content, don't do group content. The previous content is still accessible. Nothing has been taken away.

It's going to come back twice more, and my guess is after that it will be nerfed like Craglorn and be a permanent addition.

the difficulty is indeed frustrating in combat.
i did find Werewolf Behemoth transformations in Sorrow's Friend, which are very fun.

You can luckily do most of the daily quests with a stealth build though.
    here is mine:
    - Nightblade's Shadowy Disguise.
    - Vampire stage 4 for invisible sprint.
    - i subclassed into Shadow and Storm Calling for extra Stamina and Magicka recovery.
    - Darloc Brae for extra recovery and stealth.
    - Jailbreaker for extra stamina recovery and speed.
my character is also a Wood Elf which helps a little with Stamina, stealth detection, and movement speed.

Each NM instance is capped at 36 players. You have to use the group finder. You may have to refresh the search a few times but even at 3 am I found a good group in less than five minutes. It’s going to prompt you to port to your group’s instance as soon as you join. Take the free port, have fun.

I think main issue is people are finding it hard to pick up a group because the zone instances are empty and the different factions, quests etx make it confusing to know whether you can join with or without guild / group finder support.

I am not having this issue but my partner who is only in small guilds is. She basically gave up and may try again on the weekend.

Yes, it's a group zone. I solo vet DLC dungeons and went there with my solo character. While waiting for grouping with my guildies, I had a generic PO build on and yes, it was tough but mostly doable. A boss took ages, though. Once I had some in a group I had to switch to a non-PO setup and noticed immediately that it's not really going to work solo, so I went to the central market and waited for the rest of my guildies to arrive.

It's a group area. Go as a group, or follow a group. Don't wait for anyone to pick you up when you die, just respawn. The respawn places are quite close so it's not far to run back to the fight.
For those of us who checked out the Night Market and passing on it as it does not suit our tastes or playstyle, was it really necessary to make this week's addition to the seasonal tome challenges Night Market focused? I mean, beyond the first golden pursuit (starter quest), I won't be doing any of the golden pursuits - and I'm fine with that, but having a seasonal tomes task that is also Night Market seems quite like adding insult to injury. I was fine passing on the Night Market but now am more than a little peeved having it contaminate tomes as well.

    That's my main issue.

We need to grind NM, with groups having completely different quests and goals due to different faction, and gather 2000 Favor to get the Tomes event.
2000 Favor is half way the grind to unlock the new house fully. Is a very long and tedius grind.

I agree with you OP and anyone that is saying they can solo it must be using hacks cos even large guild groups are saying it's hard. I went in with my hubby and our companions in our IA builds and we couldnt get past second group of mobs and we had a couple of random players killing mobs with us. It was very sad to watch them try and then fall down like potatoes.

It's heart breaking cos i love to give all eso content a good go but with this i hardly got started...no chance. Who on earth is testing these events on pts.

Kinda hard to do ESO hacks on a PS5, I'd imagine. It's funny, frustrating, and sad to see how many people are in such genuine disbelief that the first thing they do is accusing people of lying or hacking or something other than it being about themselves.

I haven't genuinely tried to solo a boss here yet, but my IA build was able to reliably clear trash mobs so that I could go find groups to play alongside deeper inside the areas. It just took longer to kill stuff than in the IA since there aren't buffs.

For this reason I think you should consider giving the difficulty a buff for serious pvers who are used to IA.

I kind of agree... the content wasn't that bad. I went in solo at first while I was waiting for some guildies to log on and the first mob I ran into I.. well.. let's not talk about that.

It is meant for group content - I don't get why everyone is throwing a fit.

Shoot... I remember for years reading on the forums about how easy the game had become.. people were getting mad update after update because they were "making it more accessible" or making it less challanging as a whole etc.. and now people are complaining about this content being too hard.

The content is supposed to be hard.. the content is meant to be grouped...

Don't listen to the haters ZoS - there are tons of things in the game for solo's to do. My group had a blast last night playing this and didn't find it "too hard".. it was just the right amount of hard.

The Night Market is the worst thing I've ever experienced in ESO. The quests are boring and the rewards aren't worth the time. The zone forces you to either have a strong solo build or group up. A new location with a story would be better, not endless mob-killing. We already have the Infinite Archive but this zone feels like I just jumped straight to the 4th floor
