Yes, it's a group zone. I solo vet DLC dungeons and went there with my solo character. While waiting for grouping with my guildies, I had a generic PO build on and yes, it was tough but mostly doable. A boss took ages, though. Once I had some in a group I had to switch to a non-PO setup and noticed immediately that it's not really going to work solo, so I went to the central market and waited for the rest of my guildies to arrive.

It's a group area. Go as a group, or follow a group. Don't wait for anyone to pick you up when you die, just respawn. The respawn places are quite close so it's not far to run back to the fight.

It’s one addition to the game (that you can also completely ignore) of many being added this year…

You don't need a true raid group, you just need a group. A pug with someone holding aggro is going to be more than enough. You can also just build tanky and roam around looking for other players in the instance.

Yes it's difficult, but it's far from impossible. Group up and slot some defensive abilities.

The Nightmarket is the Group Content this year. Its not meant to be done solo. A group of 4 is solid already with 6 its probably the best balance, with more its a breeze.

Well then I will skip this entirely, I died like 12 times already within 45 minutes. I was hoping for some enjoyment but it`s a NO for me. I wonder if ESO hired some developers from D2?

They don't work. Tried, tested and instakilled every time.

Also, the adds attack you while you're rezzing. No way to lose aggro if you float down before fully rezzing. Seems wrong that adds can attack you while you're dead waiting to be alive again. Bug?

TBH I'm honestly surprised they haven't introduced a scribing invisibility skill yet. Kind of expecting them to/they should using the old cost + cast, just make it an exorbitant cost for a somewhat-long duration.

Group finder is being used extensively. You may join a group that is too deep into the section you’re trying to do to reach them. Quit that group and look for another. It’s working trust me.

    It‘s a group zone.

It was revealed as a group zone.

It was marketed as a group zone.

It got launched as a group zone.

ZOS has said plenty of times you need a group of players to do stuff in this zone.

They couldn’t have made it much clearer.

Did the starter quest then started my faction's first quest. LIke others have said that is not appropriate for a solo player so I retreated and left. I won't be back except to reluctantly tag along and try to help if/when my small guild has a scheduled guild meetng and wants to run this content.

That said, I'm not upset. There is a long list of things in this game I love and a long list of things I don't. Fortunately the game is so large and diverse in content that there is plenty for all tastes. Though the Night Market is not my cup of tea, I understand there are those who will enjoy it so I guess that is good for the health of the game. Sort of like Tales of Tribute - tried it, hate it but glad others enjoy it. :)

It's so simple a tank can do it.

Sturdy Leeching plate and Crimson Twilight, Malubeth and tape down L2. Grab a snack afk, come back and watch stuff die.

Agree completely. When I first heard about the Night Market and read the feedback on PTS, I was disappointed because I knew it wouldn't be my cup of tea. But then I thought, "Well, I never do trials, vet content, or PvP because they're not my cup of tea. I just ignore them (and the rewards) and do stuff I enjoy." And that got me over it.

Looking forward to the story content and other stuff (like rumours, favours, etc.) coming soon.

When they said it was group content, I expected it to be normal dungeon difficulty - at least the overworked stuff. And I would have loved it if that was the difficulty level of the overworld tbh.

I played with a group and we still ended up leaving frustrated with the whole thing. Im not saying we were the most skilled group in the world, but we arent awful. And for a limited time event like this with a focus on multiplayer activity... id really expect them to make it more accessible.

I also have no idea how you are supposed to kill the bosses? We didnt see any other groups out there and only 2-3 other players running around solo (largely avoiding the mobs).

I'm only upset about having wings of the house tied to it. I'm glad they let you get the main part without dealing with the mess but having wings I'll never unlock feels bad man.

That and honestly, it seems like this may be the ONLY zone we see this year. If they had given this as part of an update which had a new overland zone or something for the rest of us, most people probably wouldn't even have blinked over it being group based.

It would certainly solidify my stance that tanks are the master spec, and are favored by the gods.

I managed to run around and complete a couple of quests, got basic rewards and realised it was a group zone after avoiding most of the enemies and dying several times. I don't do group pve (unless it's a boss where I try to fight with other players that are there at the same time) so left there and not going back.

For those of us who checked out the Night Market and passed on it as it does not suit our tastes or playstyle, was it really necessary to make this week's addition to the seasonal tome challenges Night Market focused? I mean, beyond the first golden pursuit (starter quest), I won't be doing any of the golden pursuits - and I'm fine with that, but having a seasonal tomes task that is also Night Market seems quite like adding insult to injury. I was fine passing on the Night Market but now am more than a little peeved having it contaminate tomes as well.

I agree with you OP and anyone that is saying they can solo it must be using hacks cos even large guild groups are saying it's hard. I went in with my hubby and our companions in our IA builds and we couldnt get past second group of mobs and we had a couple of random players killing mobs with us. It was very sad to watch them try and then fall down like potatoes.

It's heart breaking cos i love to give all eso content a good go but with this i hardly got started...no chance. Who on earth is testing these events on pts.
