Official Night Market Feedback Thread

Nothing is explained properly so it's very confusing, especially how to get started. Also too difficult, a lower difficulty setting is really needed, our group just kept dying over and over again, very boring. We did manage to finish the faction quest in the end but it took ages and the rewards were rubbish. Altogether we received two reward boxes each and both contained one piece of armour that was already collected. Probably won't bother with it any more but thanks for the house.

iirc i played a game some time ago that had an auto-group function in the game. whenever i would enter an encounter area i'd get a prompt to group with others already engaged. can we do this in this game? imo this would help with all that group content...just spit-balling here.

You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it, so now you want cheap thrills and, like, plenty of them....

Also the Night Den seems to be bugged. You cannot select it on the map to port to (PC) and I have only been able to enter it manually, through the front door.

Just wanted to confirm that this is a known issue, and is related to how the Night Market is set up. If you would like to travel to the Night's Den house, you can either use the housing section in the collectibles panel, or you can zoom out your map and use the version of the icon that is just outside the Night Market, and next to the event zone icon in the Shambles (see below). That is a working house icon.

**Please do note that I am a casual player who loves the questing and exploring aspects of the game, but I despise pvp and being forced to group with lots of players just to be able to progress. My play style and many people's probably differs greatly, but here's my opinion, for what it's worth.

It seems that there's a giant portion of players that all joined the same faction right from the get go. I logged in right when the area opened and within the first ten minutes the thousand eyes faction had already pulled away by hundreds of points. If they somehow manage to lose it would be a miracle, as of now they are over 300k ahead of 2nd place on xbox na.

The instances are basically empty of players and trash mobs can one hit kill any casual player, like myself. Even grouping up with a friend who runs trails regularly, we're still struggling just to make it to the quest objective. We happened to run into a group that was roaming and killing bosses for a while, but many times they would split and go in different directions making it difficult to tag along.

To be quite honest, I can't see any casual player, who's just in it for the fun of the game, finishing this golden pursuit and event in general. Without having a dedicated group to run with, it's just not feasible to sit around and hope a group wanders through that you can tag along with. Many players are in it for the fun of the game, not to get so frustrated that they rage quit. What's the point in playing then?

In my opinion if you want to keep players engaged in the night Market, you either need to nerf the monsters from vet trail level down to something doable for 4-5 people or increase the instance population cap. I realize it's the opening day, but instances are just too empty to support any kind of enjoyment for the average player.

Far be it from me to say "I told you so" when we were testing during the U49 cycle, but .... well, I told you so. You can kinda sorta run solo, but it doesn't work well and the single respawn point mostly results in being chewed up and spit out over and over by respawning trash packs.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

(PS-NA) Apparently there is no way to leave the Night Market outside of traveling to a home outside of Fargrave from your Collections tab. I should be able to use the wayshrine in the plaza to do so.
You can walk out. There's a door near the house that either takes you to fargrave, with a wayshrine nearby or, if you don't own fargrave/deadlands, takes you back where you were before.

This is me as well lol. I very much told everyone so, and everyone berated me for it too.

This is not accurate. Players are not given priority to be instanced with players of the same Faction. There may be fewer players in the Ruckus District right now because folks are prioritizing a different District, but that is not how instancing in the Night Market works. When players enter the main hub and Districts, they join based on when they entered until the zone cap is hit, then a new instance spins up. That's it.

The issue is the instance is spread across all 3 districts and the hub. So the game is probably just putting you in an instance where, statistically since Thousand Eyes is dominating right now, all the players in your instance are over there based on happenstance.

Each instance only has 30-something players, so it's not hard to find yourself in an empty one when you're playing a less popular faction.

You're welcome! Just didn't want a rumor spreading. We'll take a look at the instancing numbers. It's also possible folks haven't made their way into the zone yet. We are keeping a close eye on population numbers overall and per server and will continue to do so.

In a year with no new zone, THIS is what you decide to give us?

Completely unplayable unless you have a group of top-tier elite players who can easily handle vet trial content.

It's way too difficult and definitely not fun.

I've been playing ESO for 10 years and you have dropped the ball BIG time with this.

    Hard pass!!

We provided plenty of feedback on the Night Market when it launched on the PTS. None of it has been taken into consideration.
Also, we provided feedback on the rewards, and again, nothing has been taken into consideration.
Not sure why you need more feedback. We will stop providing feedback, because you have already decided what you want to do, and things stay the same.

Only a very few players are playing, on day 1, the launch, when there should be "excitement". There is none.
I played a little bit just to see whether anything had been changed. Nothing has been changed. Not interested.

The mobs near this boulder dash are too close and spawn with too-inconvenient timing, spoiling the puzzle, as players are unable to interact with the pads in combat. A decent fix might be to make the pads interactible during combat.

Every player of every faction can go into every district, and if you want to do the achievements and unlock all the wings of the house, you have to go into all of them. So even if you're in a different faction you can still go wherever the people are.

Well, i took a look. Not happy at all. Seems to be another only group content. Funny, cause there was no other players, just me. Besides, i hate groups. If i cannot solo it, you can keep it.

Btw. even if it would be possible to solo this in the theory, it's actually not, cause the game keeps stopping. The delay is a catastrophy. Since the last update playing bekame really annoing. The next update should be about the server performace, just saying...

I personally think the event could use a bit more player guidance. I did the intro quest and picked a faction, but after that it feels to me like you kind of just get dropped into the content, given some UI elements to give you an idea of what is going on, but not many details. For example:
    • I was grouped with another player and when we opened the event's UI, it showed me that a skirmish was active in one zone, but the other player saw it was inactive. We were standing next to each other in the district. I'm not sure why this is?
    • I wish there was some very basic, "explain it to me like I'm five" type of in-game, practical guide for where to find all the info on all the smaller event mechanics. There are three zones + hub, and there are roaming bosses in the zones, but then there are also skirmishes (on a different screen from the bosses), and there's a trial and dungeons. Oh and also quests and a faction favour system. It's nice to have a lot of variety, but I would love some more structure/explanation to it haha.
    • I went over to the dungeon in the Parch, and the little notif in the corner told me I need some item to go through the sand wall. I couldn't find info in the event UI on the item (might have overlooked it), but a google search told me the means of getting it is described in the achievements window. Up until I found the sand wall I had no clue there even was an item-wall mechanic there lol.
It is possible I misread or missed something, but maybe a bit more obvious guidance would help, at least for total newbies to the event who hadn't been prepping and reading details on it prior? Or did I miss some tutorial NPC somewhere?

Sad fun fact: we did try this on the PTS. I said this would be too hard and people would just quit, NOT group up. People who don't like grouping won't magically start doing so for this. I fought probably too much, but I did, and so did a handful of others.

The elites told me to shut up, it's fine. So, enjoy the dead content I guess.

(For the people who will come in a few days with examples of it being not dead, give it a week or two. It will be populated at first, but it will die quickly.)

Thank you for fighting! We appreciate it!!

There should be some type of awards board for dropped set items. I don’t know if the sets dropped rotate or if it’s completely random. But overland sets dropping in that zone for the level of difficulty doesn’t seem right.

I got a trial set item and don’t know who dropped it or why. There isn’t a lot of time to look, because you are forced to keep up with group randoms or face a long run through trash mobs. I mean the run isn’t that bad because I play a tank but I can see it being a nightmare for someone who is pure dps.

Can we just have the set items mailed to us when they drop in that zone? Also, consider taking the trash items and making one trash item that stacks. I don’t like having to play inventory management while in there. It’s too much loot and go; and you don’t have time to sift through it all.

The oddities are horribly designed, players keep pulling mobs into people trying to do them, requiring them for a daily (which mind you is required to get a LOW CHANCE at getting the fragment you need to be able to get the artifacts for EVEN DOING the dungeon and trial), I literally just had a wandering calamitous boss walk into me while doing one. It wouldn't be so bad for all of this if the cooldown on these oddities wasn't so long. I don't know who designed them this way or made it mandatory for a daily, but it is by far the worst designed content I have seen since I have played ESO (Console release).

    Main feedback:
    Increase trash pack respawn times
    Decrease cooldown on the oddities
Make the fragment drop for the relics GUARANTEED from the daily quests, players shouldnt be barred from doing content by RNG of all things
DO NOT LET THE CALAMITOUS BOSSES WANDER INTO THEM

Who is this for? As someone who does vet trials, has all arenas completed on vet, and occasionally solos dungeons: Who Is This For?? On top of this, can someone tell me why in the oblivion we're forced to wayshrine every time we die (which is way too often)? I see absolutely no point in it other than an attempt to make pvpers feel at home having to run 1000 miles to resume what you're doing.

*Also, this may be the most poorly written (I hesitate to even call it writing) piece of content in ESO. Its literally just got NPCs being like, "Hay let me tell you about these game mechanics!" "Ignore the fact that none of these enemies belong here!" "Have fun grinding!"
