I really like this suggestion; it would allow players who didn't choose the Sorc or Warden path to have permanent pets.
As for the issue of obstructing vision, perhaps we could make the Maw of the Infernal animation transparent, similar to the Winged Twilight skill skin. And if I remember correctly, Zos is also developing a way to adjust the effect intensity. This way, it won't affect the tank's vision.

I would definitely take a flame atronach Companion (with or without a quest--it could be about summoning it or a story about a conjurer npc).
Or even a cool PvE mode like an arena or Archive where you have a pet for that content only, that you upgrade over time.
I feel like this is just a me thing but I'd love it if the proc condition for Maw of the Infernal was just axed and the daedroth would be visible and active at all times so long as you had the two piece bonus.

I love the Maw too. But it has near 100% uptime as it is guaranteed to proc off cooldown off a heavy or light attack.
Instead of it being up all the time, I wish damage scaling would go back to how it used to be for pets, where true dedicated pet characters were running around with 70k+ Mag to maximize the damage on their pets (including Maw).
