Kind of Wish Maw of the Infernal was always on

I feel like this is just a me thing but I'd love it if the proc condition for Maw of the Infernal was just axed and the daedroth would be visible and active at all times so long as you had the two piece bonus.

Tanks and other players would hate this so much.

I really like this suggestion; it would allow players who didn't choose the Sorc or Warden path to have permanent pets.
As for the issue of obstructing vision, perhaps we could make the Maw of the Infernal animation transparent, similar to the Winged Twilight skill skin. And if I remember correctly, Zos is also developing a way to adjust the effect intensity. This way, it won't affect the tank's vision.

Addendum: I'm not against permanent pets; what I object to is binding permanent pets to Sorc.

Even the transparent Matriarchs are annoying and visually obstructive, though.

I would prefer to simply not have them rendered at all if they are allies. The sprite is enormous. There's no way to make that okay in group play.

It would be bad for visibility for this set in particular, but I do wish we had more permanent summons, even if they worked as a Companion. I would definitely take a flame atronach Companion (with or without a quest--it could be about summoning it or a story about a conjurer npc).

Or even a cool PvE mode like an arena or Archive where you have a pet for that content only, that you upgrade over time.

I think it would be possible, but it should have the stipulation that it forces a cooldown when the pet is killed.

Maw is really obnoxious is both size and animation

I could see something like this on a future 5pc or mythic item but it would need to be less of a problem to others

Idk if they would do that, the maw became untargertable a long while ago and making it a valid target would only make zoo builds in pvp even more obnoxious

I mean... its going to be there regardless the only difference is it teleporting in and out of existence as the proc ends

I love the Maw too. But it has near 100% uptime as it is guaranteed to proc off cooldown off a heavy or light attack.

Instead of it being up all the time, I wish damage scaling would go back to how it used to be for pets, where true dedicated pet characters were running around with 70k+ Mag to maximize the damage on their pets (including Maw).

Your points are true and your reasoning is sound... but what if I also wanted to walk around with the daedroth outside of combat? Hypothetically speaking.

Yeah, daedroths are cool. If it weren't for the Maw already existing, I'd have suggested one as a pet reskin for sorcs.

You are not alone. I support this. I also use and thoroughly enjoy my pet Sorcerer.
