No, they should not come back

I'm actually enjoying the new format a lot more than the old one (playing only 8v8). XvXvX works well on a large scale, but I feel it doesn't work as well on a small scale. Even in Cyrodiil the low population caps are starting to show how pointless it even is to fight when the two other teams pick yours as their target. For three teams to work there needs to be room for teams to split up and go after multiple objectives. If you're the only one on your team to go after a new flag in Crazy King, and you arrive there together with two enemies, you're pretty much screwed because they have double your numbers. In the new format you're more likely to have some support and less likely to be vastly outnumbered.

Some matches have been very unbalanced, where it was clear within the first 3 minutes who would win and the rest of the time was just waiting for it to be over with. But I have also been in a lot of matches where it was unclear who would win until the very last second, and I think having a decent MMR system could increase the chances of getting in fights like that.

So overall I'm happy with the new battlegrounds.

I think old format can be put into the current 8v8 queue. So you queue and a match forms. It can either be 8v8 or 4v4v4 but meanwhile 4v4 competitive queue can stay as it is.

Lets assume they did this, and additionally medal based leaderboard should be changed to 8v8 and 4v4v4 game modes. Then they can make a ToT like ranking system for 4v4 game mode.

Hit me up in game on pcna and I will get you added to the bg guild i am in. It's a real great guild with a lot of discussion on this topic and a lot of other fun build and bg related stuff. Maybe the discussion has died down a bit in favor of other things since the release is been ga for a while now, but yeah, it's not just four people.

I buy both chapters and crowns. And I only play on BG. 4x4 DM have become much better. Much more personalized fights. If I would like to see the return of 4x4х4, it is only with difficult maps for capturing the flag. The new 4x4 is much better as a competitive mode.

What I dislike the most about the new BGs is that one team usually afks in spawn when they start losing and that it takes the game 2 minutes to spawn them down below. It's more noticeable in 4v4 than 8v8.

I think they should make ranked 4v4v4 and unranked 8v8.

I just don't think 4v4 works and is a big disaster. I don't queue for it because one of the teams is going to lose the first clash and proceed to afk in spawn. It's very rare to get a close 4v4 game in my experience.

I really like the 8v8 concept though. I like the bigger teams, I find it really fun. I think they just need to iron out the wrinkles so to speak.

I would say Merge Solo and Group queues into just "8v8 Battlegrounds" - this will shorten queue times and improve small group queuing experiences. It's always such a bummer when you want to do BGs with your buddy but you have to "group queue" and it takes forever to get a game and when you do you are usually against a team that was bigger and more organized when they queued.

I would say bring back 4v4v4 and make that the ranked mode. Again, I'm a fan of merging solo and group queues into one. Faster Queue times for individuals, small groups, and full groups.

I've come back after boycotting ESO since the Battleground change, and quite frankly I cannot fathom why the developers had to get rid of the old battleground ENTIRELY. I mean, I kept dying 2 minutes into each round and had to wait out the matches after that upadte; battlegrounds became unplayable for me. This is customer trolling on the level of that Korean author who wrote all the manga like Freezing that started out great but then he keeps leaving them unfinished just to get satisfaction from all the angree posts. Someone pleace tell me a VERY good reason they couldn't keep both OLD and NEW!?

I’ve only done Battlegrounds sporadically but the 4v4 is way rougher when you’re on the losing side. With three teams there was at least a chance that the other two teams would distract each other.

Polls like this should really be yes/no. The extra options confuse the results.

The first option (red) for multiple formats is effectively neutral, so tallying up, only 1/3 (blue and green) specifically want 3-way as the primary BGs format. The other 2/3 of votes may not be opposed to change, but are clearly content with 2-way.

I don’t write my polls in the way that’s most technically proper, I write them in the way that will satisfy my curiosity (thus, they’re not to prove a point). I wanted to know if people wanted 4v4v4 back and if so, what manner of implementation. You can be content with 2-way and also be content with 4v4v4, they’re not mutually exclusive.

I just want to play 8v8 and 4v4v4. I like the enhancements added to Battlegrounds when they were reworked, and I'd like to see them be added to the old maps and format again. I miss the old maps, but I also like the new maps as well.

I want both 2-team and 3-team formats as options, whether they're separate queues or whether they're periodically cycled in.
