The writhing wall event has ended?

I got all my bone fragments inside of 4-5 days, all but perhaps 2 came from blue boxes or chests. Most of them came from the siege camp chests, and to a lesser extent the siege camp blue boxes. And if anybody needed that many boxes to get the rest, then the event ending early was hardly why they haven't completed it yet.

[edit] Besides which.. has any of the rewards from collecting a dozen or two fragments in any other zone ever been something easy to knock out in a couple of days?

So, you've never heard of the RNG?

And again, it went from the equivelant of 8 gold boxes a day to 1.

Not true, my RNG was heavily against me. You were really lucky!

On PC NA the bone shards usually came in the first few golden boxes of the day, usually one or two per day. Therefor I reached 25/25 on PC NA for the bone shards. Yet on PC EU, my main server where I really wanted the skill style, my RNG didn't even give me one per day even after doing all the event crafting dailies on 20 characters multiple days in a row and all the golden boxes every day. Ended on PC EU with 15/25.

    RNG can be really harsh!

PS: Even on PC NA where I spammed event quests to try and get the house, I never once received a bone shard from the siege camp chests themselves.

Didnt they say somewhere that they will bring it back in January for who missed it once its stable and bugfree?

They're only bringing back the Fortress, not the whole event.

Yeah thats what i meant...i dont think anyone cared about the rest of the event....

Those who don't have all the drops, because the quests went away, because the event ended earlier than it should have done, care.
Exactly! I'm still missing several Shards of Writhing Bone to complete the Caltrops skill style due to the abysmal drop rate. How am I supposed to get them now? Except by buying them from guild traders for exorbitant amounts of gold...

It would've been better if you could turn in quests you still have, but then not get any new ones. Instead, the game tells me to turn them in to the respective quest giver, with a beacon nonetheless, who is no longer there.

@ZOS_Kevin, do you have any suggestions?

The writhing bone fragments still drop. You can still do the siege camp dailies to get them. General Zasimba is still there in the camp handing out her daily quests. As well, they can also drop from the Siege Camp chests after killing the camp boss.

    [edit] typos

While that may technically be true, almost no one does siege camps any longer because of the grind. Add to that, the HP for the incursion NPCs needs to be drastically lowered. Don't know about you, but I can't solo 5 soul reapers with mini bosses having several million HP. Not to speak of the main boss(es) which usually have in excess of 15 million HP. With a group, that's doable. Solo or with one other player, not so much.

EDIT: I should add that I've had the fortune to be able to do two siege camps earlier. The first two in several days. Rewards? Well, let's lead with the important part. NOT A SINGLE SHARD! In fact, the golden box (wasn't even sure it was still around) yielded crap like the Brooch of Fellowship style material, some random blue items and a page of the now ubiquitous Stirk Fellowship style. Oh, and the siege camp chests? A blue ring, a blue random item and an empty soul gem. And a few hundred gold. How's that for a reward! And yes, both chests contained equally laughable loot.

I do find it kind of odd, that you cannot see a problem here, just because you were lucky.

The Camp quest giver isn't giving out quests any more.

I really don't see why ZoS couldn't have left the quest givers there so that those of us who didn't finish getting the shards could finish that. OR fix the abysmal drop rate! I did quite enough daily quests and only got half the shards for Caltrops.
I actually quite liked the event and its asthetics - but it has been ruined by how BUG RIDDEN it has been, and no accommodation for this by ZoS.

And again, you don't need to get gold boxes for them. There are an infinite supply of siege camp chests to loot from.

The in-game Writhing Wall event page (under the Groups option) had a countdown timer that showed when it would end-- i.e., how many days and hours were remaining-- which began counting down once Phase 3 began. The event did not end "early"; it ended when the countdown timer indicated it would end.

It's normal for any unfinished Holiday quests to remain in your Quest Journal after its associated event has ended. This has been the case with all previous Holiday quests; the Writhing Wall event is no different in that respect. I've had to abandon a number of Holiday quests on some of my alts over the years, because they had accepted quests which could no longer be completed and/or turned in after an event had ended.

As for the Golden Pursuits, other Golden Pursuits campaigns which were associated with a particular event or activity-- such as (if I'm not mistaken) the PvP-related Golden Pursuits campaign that was roughly concurrent with a Vengeance test-- have been timed to begin and end on dates a bit different than the associated event or activity, such that the Golden Pursuits ran longer than the associated event. I assume this was done to help give players plenty of time to complete enough activities to earn the "capstone" reward. I don't think this current Golden Pursuits campaign was ever expected to end at the same time as the Writhing Wall event.

    1) It was not made clear that the other quest givers would go at the end of phase 3.
    2) The caltrop thing drop rate is awful.
    3) Hardly anyone doing the last remaining daily so killing daedra at camps tedious & slow - as someone above said, hp needs to go down.

Again, this just shows how dire the ‘planning’ of this event was.

The event has been memorable for all the wrong reasons...

I will always remember how I unsubscribed from ESO+ after years and uninstalled the game during this event.

And I will always remember this event before thinking about preordering any ZOS content again.

So why are you still here in eso forums if you dont play eso anymore? Why not move on?

ESO+ is not required to play. It is totally possible to play ESO without a sub. And it is equally possible to play ESO without buying the latest update if you stick to basegame content.

But if the goal of the game is to make profit, maybe the devs should look at trying to retain people who are pulling back on their spending instead of continually catering to the base that will support them regardless.

They stated they uninstalled, not just dropped Plus.

That said, I think it's good for people who aren't players anymore to give feedback as well as long as it's constructive, even if it's negative. Lapsed players being pulled back in are good because their feedback was addressed by ESO in a way that didn't cause harm to it's existing playerbase would be a good thing for the game.
And that can only happen if all of us are welcome.
