Ember has been asking to race for years, and for years I've had to ignore her pleas because the mechanic is simply not in the game.
On behalf of my favorite companion, I hereby demand (as respectfully as possible) to let us race Ember.

I feel like the focus should be on fixing known issues with the game before putting time into trivial stuff like racing your companions. And in case you haven't noticed, companions don't always follow you exactly. Sometimes they "time warp" to your location. Messing with this code could really cause some more continuing issues that never get fixed.

And 6 hours in, we are still 100% all for the request of being able to race Ember. This is super encouraging. I'm glad to see so many Ember fans showing up.

You'd have to ask Ember that. She hasn't told me anything about prizes. I've just been too ashamed of the whole topic because of having to just ignore her requests for so many years.

This is the sort of thing that people have been asking to be done with Companions, right? More in-depth functionality for the system overall, and not just more Companions every year?

I would be fine skipping a year or two of getting companions if it meant for a little more depth.

Well, we've skipped one year. I hope we don't have to wait too much longer for any new Companions. Hopefully they'll be worth the wait!

Racing missions would be a cool mechanic. (timed checkpoints, PvE duels with NPC's and PvP duels)

If you win, you get a free riding lesson of choice. More engaging than pressing a button for 2 months.

New World has this to level up your mount. You could also feed the mount for buffs.

Minor tangent, but the First Emissary would also like to remind that the excellent people of Orsinium have been denied their traditional New Life drunken Echatere races for over a decade now. It is an important part of their cultural heritage! And I’m sure they would be happy to let Ember participate.
