Don’t hold your breath for “during no events” though since we are going to have grindathons events all the way through New Life ending in early January.
But the fact that there are major gamebreaking bugs right now (like weapon passives just falling off on barswap and some enemy animations just not playing at all forcing Bahsei to teabag constantly) means another maintenance is absolutely necessary.
…unfortunately, they don’t care about bugs that affect combat, so I guess we have to wait like two weeks before we can have prog groups again?

Well, some very weird things are happening today. Weapons are changing appearance i.e, staves turn into daggers. And my characters will start "dancing" and not casting attacks. Multiple /reloadui 's and logging in and out just to talk to a NPC. Markers all over the place ...
i wonder if people REALLY play the game, but not sitting afk in some zones/houses. THERE ARE A FEW DAMN GAMEBREAKING BUGS, quick fix is neccessary [snip]
[snip] respect other players who can't play game cause of those bugs [snip].

Let's hope those bugs actually get fixed then - because there's nothing in the message from Kevin implying that this is the cause of the maintenance. If you see the message, you'll note it just says "critical backend updates". It also mentions the store and account system. Nothing about incremental patch, or anything of the sort. I'm glad you're optimistic about the bugs being fixed though, and that you express it in such a calm and respectful manner to those of us who are concerned.

if it would be only about store and account system they would not need to bring servers down. critical backend also may have an impact on current gamebreaking bugs, so proly we will get some stuff fixed. who knows, who knows, but still whining about maintenance in the game which has issues - stupid idea. and about maintenance at all, coz it would be great if servers would reboot every week/twice per week (steam does it every week)

I think if the maintenance work was carried out at night, for example at 5 am and took up to 30 minutes, then there would be no complaints at all.
And people complain only because in the case of ESO it is 6-8 hours during the day.
Why it's so hard to understand, no one in their mind is against of fixing the game.
lostineternity wrote: »Could someone please explain me (I'm ex wow player) why maintenance in ESO takes so long? And why it is during the day? I can't comprehend it.
I understand when it's a release of a huge content update, but not every week.
I remember back in 2023 people lost their minds when blizzard made one time maintenance from 3am to 11 am. But here it's like every week and sometimes even 2 times per week and people are ok with it?
