So... So... A Molag Bal branded bed.

I might get moderated for this? But I'm repeating hard lore that you can find in the game, in other ES games, and on the wiki with just a little effort. Molag Bal is the King of [snip]. He has [snip] multiple characters in the canon, most famously when he made the original vampire, Lamae Beolfag.

And now his cult has released this beautiful new bed for you to... Well, this is awkward.

I kind of understand how we got here. Maybe you just forgot the lore! Or, it's a new zone, it's exciting to be fighting old enemies, we already have Deadlands furniture for Dagon, who's the god of just destroying the whole world. But it's not as value neutral as generic world destruction. It's accurate to describe it as a [snip] styled bed - a name for Bal you can find, again, in game - and that's weird and uncomfortable and like 60 furnishings in this update were released like this. The [snip] branded furniture -- now a global name in mattresses!

Can we get a name change? Maybe to like... Vampiric? Please. A simple name change would make this a million times less disturbing.

It's called "Worm Cult Bed, Canopy Full"...? It's Worm Cult styled. The Worm Cult follows Mannimarco (The King of Worms), not Molag Bal, and Mannimarco is an ambitious necromancer, not an assaulter.

Edit: Okay, to be specific, the Worm Cult do seem to praise Molag Bal in some of their ambient dialogue (I read the UESP page after posting this), but the Worm Cult is still Mannimarco's crew. Doesn't mean they're all in it for the reason you're describing. It does have a skull on it (Mannimarco's symbol) as opposed to Molag Bal's head (Molag Bal's symbol), after all.

Also wanted to say it's a worm cult but even if it had some molag imagery or reference by name, it's just a bed, a place for sleep. It's not that deep or offensive.

To me it doesn't look Daedric or Coldharbor-related at all, so it didn't make me think of Molag Bal. From my point of view it's basically just sinister kitsch for mortals (since for some reason, practitioners of necromancy all need to enjoy staring at skulls 24/7 in Tamriel) - not meant negatively, I actually like what I've seen of the Wormcult furnishings so far (although we could debate how much sense it makes for a forbidden cult to have their own furniture).

I'm more concerned we can directly tell depressed Darien to go jump into a Soul Reaper. But that's a different topic.

Sometimes i understand why devs dont read the forum...ppl really get agitated about every little tid bit...would be nice if the forum can start focusing more on constructive critcism to make the game - that is intended for a mature adult audience with adult writing and content - better.

Who wants a worm cult/Molag Baal bed?

Give me a Sanguine styled bed with red silk sheets, roses and wine glass holder.

Got to hand it to the Worm Cult though, unlike some people, they can design beds that a person can comfortably sleep in. This looks like solid craftsmanship and has a reasonable mattress.
Looking at you, druids, with your uneven rocks. Join the Worm Cult instead for Altmeri comfort and lessened back pain.

Here I am visiting these forums every once in a while and remember once again why I don't interact with community more, at least here.

This is baffling and completely changes the meaning of the thread. The specifics matter here. I had already significantly self-censored, removing all but the beginning and end letter of the word. Was the problem that it was too comprehensible? That people could understand what I was saying with a token amount of effort?

Changing the words changes the meaning. Unlike what some people here are claiming, words mean things. Words have specific meanings.

This is in the game. As everyone keeps pointing out, this is a rated M game. This is a forum for the game. Why can we not talk about the specific content that was put into the game? What other implemented content are we not allowed to talk about in the words the content itself uses?

Here: Whenever the mods edited my post to refer to Molag Bal, I used the title Vivec gives to him, because he is a god of (snip). Explicitly, in the lore, in multiple places you can find right now, via in game lore books such as here, or on UESP.

    pp2mjaryjo9i.png

And you can have the King of (snip)'s branded bed! Made by his cult, for you! To... Oh dear.

We can avoid this entire, entirely too unpleasant to talk on the forums about conversation by changing the name to something like, for instance, "Dark Daedra," or "Obsidian."

If it helps you, imagine that's the opulent and dramatic-looking bed crafted for the King of Worms himself. Since Mannimarco doesn't live barefoot in a cave in this era yet, he surely needs a bed.

The only issue I have is that it's called "Worm Cult Bed, full".
For that, it's rather empty :p

I mean… it’s not called “Molag Bal Bed,” it’s “Worm Cult Bed.” There is no Molag Bal branding on it—that’s a Necromancer’s skull for a necromancer’s cult.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there an Elder Scrolls game in which the necromancer leader of the Worm Cult was specifically trying to usurp Molag Bal? So… it’s more like the Worm Cult is a Mannimarco thing than a Bal thing in the first place.
